Skin cream for normally combination skin dried out by winter. (Urgentish) help please!

Hoping for some urgentish (ie before my lunch break) advice please!

My skin is normally normal/combination but this weather is ruining it! I have dry patches and some flaking so I think I need a slightly heavier moisturiser than normal, but I don’t want to end up oily and spotty. I normally use Origins Moisture Matte but I think it might be exacerbating the issues Blush

I want to pop out on my lunch break to get something - does anyone have any recommendations please? I can get to decent sized Boots, Debenhams or Body Shop so anything from any of these shops would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I have similar and have been using Avene and La Roche Posay toleraine which have both been good so far. Cervae also supposed to be good, all available in Boots

Clarins double serum. Ask in Boots for a couple of samples so you can try before you buy a whole bottle.

Serum... If you're popping into a big branch of Boots, look for the Bioderma Hydrabio serum. It's about £16 and it's pretty good under moisturiser or without.

Great suggestions, thank you all! Didn’t even think of serum but that sounds like it might be a good idea.

Eucerin 5% urea
Urea is both a keratinolytic (gets rid of flakes) and a humectant. It also contains glycerin.

Destinysdaughter · 19/12/2018 22:34

Just came on to say Eucerin too!

Ditto!

You'll be sorted now but I've been using my Aveeno as I couldn't seem to get on top of it - central heating, car heater isn't helping!

I normally use LRP as I have sensitive skin but Aveeno is very gentle

Just an update for anyone desperately concerned about the state of my skin 😂

Boots had 3 for 2 on all skincare so I got a Bioderma serum and light moisturiser for day time and some heavier Eucerin Urea cream for night. It’s made a huge improvement already so thanks to all for your tips. Smile

Brilliant, thanks for the update. Am keen to try the Eucerin with Urea.

@Lumene I’d never have thought to try it before, the tube looks too ‘medical’ for me Blush but it’s lush and exactly what my skin needs!
