WTF do I wear to a nightclub these days?...

I’m 38, size 14 and going out for the first time in yonks. DH and I used to permanently have our heads in speakers in dirty nightclubs but kids/ boring jobs/ yadda yadda yadda, you know the score.

We are out out soon and I don’t know WTF to wear. It’s not the sort of club where it’ll be body con/ super high heels/ fake lashes and a tonne of highlighter look. More like a dirty rave where I’ll need to wear flat shoes/ trainers/ DMs. What do I wear so I don’t look like the middle aged frump I’ve become.

Max spend £50/60, even better if it’s Asos as I’ve got a gift voucher.

(Also I’m a HoC winter so suit dark, strong, saturated colours rather than warm tones/ pastels etc).

I’m similar to you in size and age! Last time I went out (September!), jumpsuits were the way forward. I got a really nice one from Next actually (mustard yellow, I’m an Autumn!) but have got some from Asos in the past too.

I'd keep it simple, black on black. Black jeans and then a black strap top, leather jacket, red lipstick. I wore that exact outfit to a 'rave' a couple of weeks ago and I felt really good/not out of place.

37 and size 14 here! I went out on the weekend and wore a sequin skirt, opaque black tights, ankle boots and a Christmas t shirt.

I've never been a fan of jeans for out out and not a heels kind of girl so I tend to stick with ankle boots. What about denim shorts/akirt, strappy top and boots/trainers? Or a casual playsuit? Most things go with boots/trainers IMO!

I like the idea of a Christmas’s t shirt and you would suit red. I would wear coated black jeans/leggings because I don’t wear skirts.

Ok, I have ordered these two tops to try with some black coated jeans I already have. The black top has a deep black v at the back.

And I’ve ordered this dress and this jumpsuit to try on as well.

Last time I went out I wore black skinnies, silver pumps and a sparkly vest top. I frequent similar dark racer nightclubs ( proper night clubs!) and no-one really gives a shit what anyone else is wearing so the only really important factor is can you dance for 8hrs in it!
