How many make up brushes do you need?

I don't wear makeup.
14YO DD does.

DD has set her heart on a Youtuber endorsed palette for Christmas (I think it's over priced at £40 compared to premium brands but hey ho) but most confusingly (for me) is that the youtuber also has a set of brushes out for £150! Apparently you NEED all these brushes to do proper make up now.

Wise ones: how many brushes do you actually need to do a full makeup? Is a 34 piece brush and sponge set necessary and if so what brands would you recommend? Thank you

I have about 20 RT brushes, I probably use 8 or 9 of them day to day

That set that's been posted above is a good shout

I was in a larger primark yesterday and they had a lot of nice brush sets, the ps pro brushes are really good and cheap. Ive also just bought a stylpro brush cleaner for £40 which is amazing and a good addition for anyone cleaning brushes, bought another for niece as her skin can breakout and she is a lazy teen who wont clean brushes the long way
