Any size 14 high-waisted pear shapes bought a nice top lately?

I look in my wardrobe and I am so short of tops. I buy new tops in desperation only to sell them on ebay as they don't suit me and I end up never wearing them. I used to always have 1 or 2 go to tops that I'd feel great in but I haven't had that for years. I clearly need to change what I'm trying on and buying.

I'm a high waisted pear shape. Size 14. 5'7 Bra size 36F. Tops often end at the wrong place for me. I have a lot of wide hip between the top of my thigh and my - fairly nipped in - waist. If tops are too long, attention is drawn away from my waist and shows too much fabric covering my widest area. Just over the hip is best. Bi prefer scoop neck, round neck or v- neck. Hate anything that makes my boobs look matronly. I don't suit big patterns. Colours I like and suit are dark green, teal, navy, black, pewter, cream, proper red, burgundy, rust, some pinks.

Help! I'm looking for smart casual which I can wear to work and at weekends with jeans.

have you tried the batwing style tops? I've just bought some and they look really nice on.

Ooh yes, I have in the past. Where did you buy from?

I bought a lovely hip length top in MandS Autograph. No idea how to link, but they had a lot of nice tops. Mine is black and white spotty with neck ties.

I got a really nice red one and a grey one from Tesco sale! had never tried them b4 but they look really nice on!

It's a shame Tesco no longer have an online shop. My closest one is too much of a trek to check out clothes on the off chance of finding something.

I'll have a look at M&S Autograph.

I look better in 3/4 sleeves too. I know they're not popular but for me, they draw the eye to the waist rather than my hips. Anything too tight around the hips will just roll up. And I can't wear tops tucked in because then it looks like my hips meet my boobs - although I can get away with it if I wear a skirt with an intergal wide belt. But definitely not with trousers.

I feel I must be missing something. Failing to try on some styles that other women know about. How can my wardrobe be disappointingly void of tops that flatter me?

Are you me? I'm also 5,7, pear shaped, small high waist with a long torso, hippy. I'm a 34DD though. Also suit those colours!

I've recently had a baby and am on a VLCD trying to get back to a decent weight so I'm afraid I haven't bought any new tops for a little while, but I wear a lot of long line tops (H&M) either on their own or under other tops (v neck t shirts mostly - I have several from Asda as they were flattering on me). I wear my denim shirt a lot (Top Shop). I like a check shirt but struggle to find a shape that's flattering due to it needing to fit across my boobs and still looking ok everywhere else.

When I was at my slimmest I was quite happy to draw attention to the waist to hip difference - the curvy look is quite in at the moment, make the most of it while it lasts!

Thanks. I tend to wear thin v- neck jumpers for very casual or sometimes to work but I am looking for something that I could wear out, or round to friends for dinner and feel more dressed up/put together.

Im happy to show off my curves wearing dresses, I just need to nail tops!

I've started shopping again now so if I see/get anything I'll let you know!

Slight change of topic, but what do you think of this? Reckon it'd suit our shape? They have a red version and grey version too..I've been eyeing it up for a while but waiting for the weight loss!
