Shampoo for oily hair

Can someone please help me find a nice light shampoo for oily hair. I wash it most days and never use conditionair. But as im getting older it just feels less clean and heavier. I've looked on the shelves and see all other hair types, normal, dry, frizzy, coloured etc but nothing for oily hair. I have thin hair but lots of it.

Has anyone found a shampoo that has helped them? It's worse during my time of the month but it generally feels unclean most of the time. Too heavy for my thin hair.

Sorry no help blatant place marking.

Fir a long time i used the aussie shampoos but now they make my hair greasy too so im in despair.

My trouble is greasy roots and dry ends so i have to use conditioner or its a tagled horrible mess

Yeah thats what I get too. Oily roots and dry ends. I'm lucky I dont get tangles but I'm fed up of having semi clean hair in the morning and a greasy top by night time. My roots just feel stuck to my head all the time. I know it used to feel so much lighter.

In the past, you had dry, normal or greasy hair. Now, greasy hair doesn’t exist and your hair has to be volumising, strengthened, brunette, blond etc.

I like this shampoo.

This is my favourite shampoo. Not specifically for oily hair (bought it for colour protection).

Thank you *petalflowers the clay L'oreal one looks like just I was looking for. I dont have any colour in my hair. I'm going to order some and give it a try. Thank you!

Full disclosure as I do work there - but The Body Shop do a Fuji Green Tea shampoo and conditioner range - designed for oily hair. I have similar hair and works really well for me. Always shampoo twice as well, my hair doesn't feel properly clean unless I do.

Yy to the L'Oréal clay one

fringegrin45 · 29/11/2018 22:10

I bought the clay one after a previous thread said it would help to not wash daily but I don't like it at all and am having to force myself to use it up (beautyhoarders)

If my hair feels particularly greasy or product laden I like Tresemme deep cleansing. Cheap too

I do shampoo twice newmum 1st time might be under the shower 2nd not. Ill try your suggestion also! Im fed up being around blonde hair beauties (who never have greasy hair) feeling like a brunette chip pan!!

I used to be a daily washer, I stopped washing my hair so often and now I'm a 2 twice a week girl!
Once you get over the first week or so, it is amazing! I just use dry shampoo on day 2/3.
Through trial and error, I've found an oil based shampoo has been the best thing ever.
I use a clarifying shampoo to start, then the oil one and then conditioner on the ends only

I don't have a suggestion but also bought the loreal clay one after a previous thread and really dislike it. Doesn't make my hair any less greasy and doesn't make it feel nice during or after washing or smell very good either, I gave up and couldn't even bring myself to finish the bottles.

Can attest to this shampoo and washing hair twice.

Other good shampoos for greasy hair are :

Johnsons baby shampoo
Redken cleansing crème
Alberto balsam tea tree tingle
Anything labelled without silicone

If your hair is blonde or grey/white, try Lush Daddy-O. It works quite well for me (fine hair, lots of it but limp, oily roots), and I use (ludicrously expensive - but hardly need any) Kiehls Amino Acid conditioner.

Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple shampoo has sorted my teen dd’s greasy, fine long hair. She uses the matching conditioner on the ends.
