Where to find a used vintage designer handbag (other than eBay)

Can anyone recommend a reliable resale place? Designer Exchange looks good, anyone have any experience with them?
I'd quite like to buy an authentic vintage bag with a bit of wear to it, but I'm intimidated by the process of authenticating it myself. Shian at NPN has gorgeous things but they're usually barely used.
Tia. :)

Vestiaire Collective is best I think. They authenticate everything.

Hardly ever worn it is great

madmum5811 · 28/11/2018 18:34

Have had great success in charity shops and certain antique establishments.

silkpyjamasallday · 28/11/2018 18:39

Vestiaire collective is great I've bought a few things from there, and am going to try and sell my old Mulberry bags on there too as it's a good service.

Thanks all. Lots of negative posts about VC on Purse Forum but I guess unhappy customers are more vocal than happy ones.

Labels Most Wanted - will also look for something in the pre-loved market if you have something specific in mind ? You won’t get a better reseller than Louise .
Any ideas what you might like ?

thefirstmrsdewinter · 28/11/2018 22:46

Thanks Hen. Looking for a small LV crossbody for everyday. Eventually I'd love a little Chanel bag in a bright colour (maybe yellow). I've never delighted in handbags but my usual everyday bag has worn out and I'm old enough for a really nice bag, so here we are. :)

I think netaporter have a vintage section.

SinglePringle · 28/11/2018 22:52

Try Timpanys also. Online and Insta.

StylishMummy · 28/11/2018 22:57

I have had a fake Chanel WOC and LV Speedy off VC.

I use;

Labels Most Wanted
Finer Things Aberdeen
NPN Bags
Luxury Labels (Facebook based)

All run by mums WFH who know their stuff, all items independently verified etc

thefirstmrsdewinter · 29/11/2018 04:10

Thank you for all the fantastic suggestions! Labels Most Wanted and Timpanys both have strong contenders but I look forward to having a better look at the others too.

I don't know what the prices were like (I'm not the designer handbag type), but Liberty on Oxford Street had second hand designer handbags area.

Linda's Stuff is a US consignment store which seems to have a vast range of expensive and rare bags. They have been extremely helpful and I've had no problems with their international shipping or customs.

thefirstmrsdewinter · 29/11/2018 17:30

Good call Xing, lots of great bags there. I'm actually in the US at the moment (and coming back in Feb) so I'll keep an eye on Linda's.

Matilda I suspect Liberty will be out of my price range (and probably mint condition). Interesting that they do vintage now. I bet they have some amazing pieces.
