All Saints Bales. Keep my size 10 or invest in the size smaller?

Mostly just which looks better? My own size 10 (no scarf in the background) or the newly arrived size 8 (red scarf in the background).

I am undecided. In someways I think the smaller one is better. But I think it is a bit too snug across the arm and bust. It is certainly more "there" - not as comfy. A bit tight if I bring my arms forward. Though I do know it will stretch. So which looks best to you?

There isn't much in it...it depends on what you're likely to wear under it. If the 8 is feeling a little tight with only a single layer underneath maybe stick with the 10?
I'm edging towards the 8 looking better BUT both look gorgeous on you so whichever is comfiest.

VeryLuckyIknow · 27/11/2018 16:38

And then I suppose if the smaller one looks better would it be worth selling my existing (not worn much) size 10 on ebay and keeping the smaller one?

I would hopefully get about £100 ish - so would be about an extra cost of £120 to me for the swap. Is it really that dramatic a difference?

I think I haven't worn the 10 much because I don't go out much - not because I don't like it/it is too big.

What would you do?

The larger one looks better IMO, but the smaller one will definitely stretch. I was really sceptical about getting a size smaller than felt comfortable when the sales assistant recommended it, but I’m SO glad that I did now.

VeryLuckyIknow · 27/11/2018 16:39

Oh, cross post. Good point about the single layer.

Keep the 10, there isn’t enough difference to be worth the swap. Looks fab!

pangolina · 27/11/2018 16:47

Yes I'd say keep the 10 on balance. I don't think the weather has been right for leather jackets this year really, either really hot or really cold. I usually live in them but mine have only had a few outings this year.
It's a fab jacket, am most envious!

VeryLuckyIknow · 27/11/2018 16:50

God you are right. I think I was hoping that there would be a dramatic difference and it would be a clear decision. But the fact there isn't much really and I am a boring fucker who doesn't have the kind of social life to wear either much means it would be madness.

It will go in the pile for the post-office tomorrow. Along with the 3 pairs of netball trainers and the Hobbs handbag.

DH will be kind of gutted - I am supposed to be finding things he can "give" me for Christmas and my birthday......

And thank you for the lovely comments. I love the jacket (both of them) and would recommend them to anyone!

Maybe for Christmas and your bday he could take you out somewhere where you can wear your beautiful jacket, instead of getting a physical gift?

VeryLuckyIknow · 27/11/2018 17:12

Grin Oh he'll do that anyway. Though saying that it is often as part of a day out - and having a December birthday one tends to think practically...so big, down, puffy thing is more likely to be the coat of choice!

So actually, maybe you have a point...two birthday trips this year sounds like a plan. Wine Gin

Depends how you’d wear it - the bigger one would fit a thinnish jumper underneath and be more suitable for winter wear with a big scarf, while the smaller would look great over a t-shirt or dress in spring. Also - your hair is fabulous Envy (envy!)

oobedobe · 28/11/2018 03:02

I would keep the 10. I bought the same one last year in the boxing day sale. I love it and try to wear it when I can. Running errands over a t-shirt and jeans, or with trainers, and for going out to the pub - try not to save it for best or you'll never wear it!

I am limited by the weather (not UK) I can really only wear it March-May, then Sept-Nov, still glad I bought it though.

ilovecherries · 28/11/2018 07:36

Don’t have an opinion on jacket, as I’m pretty much totally comfort driven in my decisions, but just wanted to say that your hair is lovely :)

I think with leather jackets, buy snug. They mould to fit perfectly over time.

VeryLuckyIknow · 28/11/2018 11:06

I did buy snug when I bought the size 10...and then lost about a stone and a half in weight...hence it is no longer snug 😀.

Am sending the 8 back. It may be slightly better but not worth the cost of change.

Thank you for the grey curls love!

Smaller one too tight. Right thing to send back.
