Top and shoes to go with this skirt?

Please could you point me in the right direction with top and shoes to go with this skirt for office Christmas party?

www.jackwills.com/carrety-sequin-skirt-100016059.html

I am tall, size 14.

Was thinking it would be a safe bet with black opaques but now stuck on shoes/ boots and top.

Any thoughts gratefully received!

Am early 40s if that helps...

Ankle boots with a heel, plain black top, biker jacket.

I'm planning on wearing something similar one night out over Christmas- intending to wear a sequin skirt, Christmas t shirt tucked in (hope I can pull this off), opaques and low black ankle boots

A black top and not a blouse with buttons. You need to keep it simple against the skirt. It used to be the rule to avoid heels being too high with a very short skirt. Low or medium may be better. I like block heels, myself.

Ok thanks for the replies.

I've got some ankle boots- one pair with gold studs that might be wrong because skirt is silver?

Will need to look carefully for tops which are flattering, fancy enough but still plain!

Was thinking it would be an easy option for the party, but I wear a lot of black to work, so might end up not looking that different!

Biker jacket was a good call- don't have one (and getting taxi straight to the venue) but can imagine that would look good!

You’ll get loads of wear from a biker jacket. It’s worth getting one.
I agree about block heels with that skirt. A black T-shirt would be enough - let the skirt make the statement. If you want fancy, I wouldn’t go fancier than a plain-ish top but slightly sheer/chiffon.

Simple black turtle neck or sweater. You need to be wallowing and tall I think to make it work.
Ankle boots for sure on the bottom

I’m 5ft9 and find minis can be too mini if I’m not careful so be sure to do the bend test with someone standing behind you to ensure decency!

Definitely a plain black tee shirt. I would go with black tights and black ankle or knee boots depending on how long your legs are!

No, I'm a short hourglass (healthy BMI but not tiny) and wear my sequinned mini all the time for casual events at this time of year.

Mine is rose gold and I wear it with a navy boatneck jumper from Uniqlo and navy opaques and flat ankleboots. I've also worn it with my purple DMs plus purple opaques and slouchy fine knit jumper. So basically everything the same colour and plain except the skirt.

For your party it depends how warm you are going to be if you go for a t-shirt or jumper. With that skirt at Christmas I'd wear black opaques plus ankle boots then possibly a simple red t-shirt or jumper if I was feeling particularly festive. Redbubble do nice scoopneck t-shirts if you fancy going all out with the Chrostmassy theme.
