Jack Wills for teenage girls?

grumiosmum · 19/11/2018 11:09

Looking for a xmas present for my 13 year old god-daughter.

Is Jack Wills still considered quite cool, or have they moved on to something else now?

Thanks!

My 14 year old DD bought another Jack Wills sweatshirt this summer so I think they are still ok. We are in Ireland though and on another thread I found out North Face are a gang brand in the UK so maybe I'm not the best to ask.........

I think it would be a lovely present (Jack Wills, not North Face)

Thanks Annasgirl !

According to my 15yo and 17yo DDs, Jack Wills is "over".

No heard that about North Face, though!

Oh dear.

What are the alternatives then?

JW, A&F and Hollister definitely had their day. Now teens are more into Urban Outfitters, Calvin Klein/VS undies/loungewear, Ivy Park at Topshop (Topshop generally, too) ‘Athleisure’ is having a moment atm amongst teens, or so it seems. Deffo not JW anymore though. What is your budget and what kind of present do you want to get her - clothes, shoes, accessories?

Strangely our local JW was full of teenagers looking in the Black Friday sale on Tuesday! My two both brought jumpers and skirts from there as they were such a good deal. Maybe it depends on what the teens in your area are wearing. I agree that Hollister is deathly though.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/11/2018 12:54

I think it does depend on the trend in the area. JW and others mentioned above definitely over here. My two get a lot from Topshop (especially the ‘vintage’ bit) and Asos. They wear some things that I would never have thought they’d like tbh, looks a bit Eighties. They both like Calvin Klein underwear and pjs.

I think some teens still do JW for the basics/hoodies as they seem to have more offers than they used to and are better deals? I remember when my DD lived in JW/A&F that sort of thing a few years back when it was the thing there was barely any offers on things - always cost me about £70 for a bloody hoody ffs! Wish it was trendier in my DD’s opinion now to get some better bargains 😂

Thanks for the advice. I succumbed to a Black Friday 50% discount & bought her a top with a very discreet JW logo, so hope it will be OK.
