Does this look smart enough?

So im going out for my OH birthday in December, with a few couples, a meal and a few drinks in a city.
Last year we went and it was freezing! The bars will be casual nothing too dressy. Ive found this jumper and quite like it, would wear with black tights and accessorise with some dangly earings (maybe black ones)
What does everyone think? Should i keep looking? Its the first top ive come across with sparkles!

Does this look smart enough?

Because the OP is using a phone to get the pic, her posture is affected. She will look great in that. Nice boots too.

SilentIsla · 07/11/2018 20:38

Not necesssary to wear thick tights, either.

SilentIsla · 07/11/2018 20:39

...necessary

MistyMinge · 07/11/2018 20:40

What about something like this? www.warehouse.co.uk/gb/clothing/tops/sparkle-polo-neck-top/033617.html?dwvar_033617_color=90&position=12&cgid=all-tops#&start=12&categoryID=all-tops

Warehouse have quite a few long sleeve tops with some sparkle.

Loveagoodbook · 07/11/2018 22:31

Thanks everyone. I think i need a shopping trip somewhere! I live in a small town so limited on choice.

Thinking about maybe getting some coated skinnies and throwing on a blouse, i just wanted to get away from trousers and wear a skirt.

With thick black tights

BitOutOfPractice · 07/11/2018 22:36

I agree about the polo being a no from me for a night out

Redskyandrainbows67 · 07/11/2018 22:37

Loving Cherries idea that you only have to dress up in London Obviously not been out in Liverpool or seen Cheshire Housewives

LadyLapsang · 07/11/2018 22:44

Impressed with your planning, I normally grab something about half an hour before I leave the house.

Racecardriver · 07/11/2018 22:45

A bit ott surely?

Loveagoodbook · 07/11/2018 22:53

Redskyandrainbows67 thanks ill have a proper look tomorrow.
Racecardriver whats OTT? Planning ahead? Not everyone has a wardrobe full of going out clothes!

I think that first top looks too bug for your frame. I agree with sparkly minidress and black tights. Good luck OP, even if it's not a dressy place a night out in Liverpool is always a memorable one!

Whatcanisayexceptyourewelcome · 07/11/2018 22:57

*big not bug

IdblowJonSnow · 07/11/2018 23:03

I really like the skirt and top but not together. Would wear the top w jeans though. I wouldn't go for a high neck top as per previous suggestions, as on that pic you look like you've got quite big boobs and high neck tops can make medium sized or bigger boobs look quite low down.

Loveagoodbook · 07/11/2018 23:12

IdblowJonSnow, it does look loke i have big boobs doesnt it? In fact they are small, strange photo!

OP posts:
Redskyandrainbows67 · 07/11/2018 23:22

I’d wear your original top with jeans too

HeronLanyon · 07/11/2018 23:29

Love cherries idea you have to ‘dress up’ in London! Really really depends where you are going. Lots of bars clubs ‘dressing up’ is not the norm at all!
