Who else has a DH who disapproves of things like botox and fillers...?

Mine does.

Hence I am booked in for both fillers and botox a week where he is away. He knew the first time I had it done, and while he said it wasn't anything to do with him / my choice etc, he did also keep subsequently adding how I didn't need it, looked great anyway and so on. Nice to hear of course, but I disagree!

I don't look bad but do have very obvious crows feet and my smallish lips are getting smaller - I don't intend to have anything obvious or plastic looking. I just hope I can manage to look 'naturally fabulous' when he comes home a week later! I am also keen for nobody to know really, as noone wants to make it public that they have a 'bit of help'!

Anyone else...?!

Me. My husband disapproves. Always tells me I'm lovely as I am etc. I just don't tell him anymore and he doesn't notice!

KeysHairbandNotepad · 03/11/2018 18:25

Mine's not keen , he's supportive if it's what I want though.

Scaramoose · 03/11/2018 19:42

I'm relieved not to have come back to a barrage of replies telling me how awful I am for having secrets or stupid for wanting it done in the first place! I think mine tries to be supportive but what he really thinks, it's unnecessary and I might start to look plastic (Ive only had it once, by the way) comes out in the end.

Mine disapproves...but also acknowledges that I am an adult and can do what I want with my own face and money.

Scaramoose · 03/11/2018 20:05

Do you all lie, or basically just not mention it, then?

Um...

It is obviously your choice, but why do it? Does your DH have scrotox? Are you not lovely, just as you are? I am nearly 50 and I am gorgeous (maybe not objectively - but in my head, I am, which is what counts).

goodnessgrace · 03/11/2018 20:18

I totally lie. I get Botox but DH doesn't and will never know.
Wouldn't chance it with fillers tho, the swelling etc would be too obvious.

shecamefromgreece · 03/11/2018 20:28

I don't mention it.
I know he disapproves and he knows I've had it in the past. I don't announce I'm having a leg wax or a facial either and it's my face not his!

shecamefromgreece · 03/11/2018 20:29

I don't have fillers though only Botox.

goose1964 · 03/11/2018 20:53

Mine but then again neither do I. I really can't see why you would want to have the most toxic poison known injected into your face, and foreign material in the case of fillers. Emotionally I'm glad I don't feel so insecure that I want to look like I did 30 years ago

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/11/2018 21:07

I have to ask what the point actually is if the human being that knows your face better than any other doesn't even realise you've had anything done?

Scaramoose · 03/11/2018 21:55

Ilike it’s a bit like someone pressing the ‘refresh’ button

OP posts:
Ohyesiam · 03/11/2018 22:06

Mine disapproves, thinks it’s good to grow old gracefully.
I know what he means, but it’s hard for a man to understand quite how much women are valued for their looks.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 03/11/2018 22:09

Good point.

zippey · 03/11/2018 22:12

Surely the human being who knows your face best is usually your mum?

Would people feel ok if the husband had Botox and fillers on the sly?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/11/2018 23:28

I always know when friends have had 'work' done.

It's often subtle but it's always obvious.

penisbeakers · 03/11/2018 23:30

Fuck. Link fail. scrotox

ILikeyourHairyHands · 03/11/2018 23:31

I'm not playing that game.
