For me it has to be a thin, plain black cardi that goes with everything, washes up beautifully, never creases and is small enough to stuff into my capacious handbag.

(Enid - try Gap)

anorak · 18/06/2007 14:09

Buff

I wear bandeau things from Primark myself

anorak · 18/06/2007 14:21

Thank you. Very versatile things aren't they?

My most useful item this season has to be a powder blue 3 quarter sleeved swing jacket type thing. Vety light cotton, but goes with anything.

I would also say my seven jeans and my flip flops.

Have never worn a bandana. If I have a bad hair day I wear a baseball cap.

noddyholder · 18/06/2007 14:24

pashminas

Oh yes vest tops. Have one on now under norkish v neck!! Love em.

Noddy - Pashminas are great but you don't wear one every day - do you?

DontCallMeBaby · 18/06/2007 15:09

Denim jacket - wear it throughout the year, over jumpers in winter, over a t-shirt on cooler summer days. Dresses down smarter stuff nicely when necessary. Only trouble is I prefer not to wear it with jeans, it looks a bit stupid. Before that, it was my black leather jacket, an impulse buy from Gap about eight years ago which I wore until the lining fell out and the leather was scuffed to the point of no return. I miss it!

anorak · 18/06/2007 15:43

Oh yes Sally I think I was introduced to your norks at the Christmas meet up wasn't I?

go with anything dressed up or down

bran · 18/06/2007 16:15

Sally, how do you wear vest tops under things without over-heating? I have a couple of high-waisted tunic things that I really like, but they're cut so low that I have to wear a vest underneath, and I get so hot.

Marne · 18/06/2007 16:17

A coat hanger

Its got to be jeans

Lizzylou · 18/06/2007 16:18

Jeans
Birkenstocks

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2007 16:21

Black cropped smart trousers - go with anything and under anything

big turquoise and wooden chunky bead neclace - never fails to get compliments and makes the crappest outfit look ok

DrNortherner · 18/06/2007 16:27

Noddy - do you wear it as a scarf or as a shawl?

janeite · 18/06/2007 18:55

Short, quite fitted black cardi.

V fine grey pashmina - wear this loads.

Jeans - but need new ones as my fave Gap ones are now falling to pieces.

Zillions of black camis from good old M & S.
