Going 'out out' on Saturday, and there will be dancing. I think I'll probably wear black skinnies, trainers and a black silk shirt.

tierraJ · 01/11/2018 17:47

It's cold out so I'll be wearing black skinny jeans, black high heel ankle boots & a dark red lacy top.

TinselAngel · 01/11/2018 17:55

I'm going out for a meal with some friends and I think I will wear my black zip front dress from Bravissimo that has POCKETS!

PouchofDouglas · 01/11/2018 18:59

Tomorrow night. Night out Nd hotel stay. Toying between black t short dress and heeled sock boots or shiny trousers

Going to the ballet tomorrow and don't know whether to wear my "best" dress - pale blue and silver with mint green flowers - or new burnt orange dress and matching jacket. Haven't been to the ballet since I was a little girl so I don't know the form!

EdWinchester · 01/11/2018 19:08

I am going to fireworks do Sat eve. I think I will wear my Hush stella jumper and grey velvet skinnies.

Under my coat Hmm

NoMalone · 01/11/2018 19:15

Form for seeing a ballet will be all sorts: jeans and a jumper or the fanciest dress you have. I watched Romeo and Juliet screened live from the Bolshoi and there were ball gowns and jeans (on different people!) I believe in dressing up for theatre and making it a special event.

I am not going out this weekend but wish I was after reading all these plans!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 01/11/2018 19:32

nomalone I'm with you on dressing up for the theatre, I wouldn't feel right wearing casual to a show. I think it will have to be my pretty dress.

YouWereRight · 01/11/2018 19:51

Not the weekend, but on Tuesday I'm going to an acoustic gig. I think I'll wear a black and gold gathered midi skirt, a cream top. Or a jumper if it's freezing.

PouchofDouglas · 01/11/2018 20:07

I love clothes

Has anybody seen any nice 'going out' tops for wearing with jeans?

CherryPavlova · 01/11/2018 20:23

We’re going to a reunion weekend with about 8 couples hosted by one couple on Saturday night then lunch in a restaurant on Sunday.
I’ve not really thought about it but will probably wear a blue based patterned maxi skirt with a light navy coloured Boden crossover jersey top. It means I can wear comfortable shoes (highest priority), eat without clothes becoming tight and be warm enough. If I’m wanting to feel glamorous, I’ll wear lipstick and dig out a sapphire pendant and earrings my husband bought me in Sri Lanka....but I probably won’t feel glamorous.
Sunday it will just be a black spotted jersey wrap dress from Bombshell. Comfortable, stretches and hides much. I’ll pack some mid heels in red but will probably just wear my dark grey flat brogues anyway. Perfect.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/11/2018 20:28

I’m going out for dinner on Saturday night with DP’s family. I am going to wear a black leather skirt from Jigsaw, black polo neck from Whistles with slight sparkle, black opaque tights, and black flatform brogues from Dune. Faux fur coat to go, either leopard print from ASOS, or a long teddy one from Whistles.

PouchofDouglas · 02/11/2018 06:48

Oh there’s a rule on the thread.
No brand names.

OP posts:
CherryPavlova · 02/11/2018 08:49

Sorry it’s not a Bodxx top, it’s just a light navy wrap top. I only use the term Bodxx so my husband knows which one to pack.
Bombshexx is a distinct style rather than brand per se (although it is a single brand).

CherryPavlova · 02/11/2018 08:50

Rules work best when they’re made explicit from the outset!! 😁

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/11/2018 12:25

Apologies, I have reported my post and asked for it to be deleted.

lifebeginz · 02/11/2018 14:57

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I am struggling with this as well...love my jeans and heels but literally have about 2 "going out" tops which I don't really like anymore...

presentcontinuous · 02/11/2018 15:04

Tomorrow's birthday outing to theatre and dinner will be new black tie-neck top with maybe cream skinnies and oxblood heels, if i can find them, or maybe my favourite black short-sleeve knit dress. Depends on outside temperature and my mood.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/11/2018 15:07

Lifebeginz - I've got a couple of nice tops, but seem to wear them all the bloody time. Really struggling to find anything I like.

lifebeginz · 02/11/2018 15:42

I'm the same...I struggle. then I see something I really like, buy it, wear it then find I am not so keen. My problem is I always hting (know) I dress quite "old" so I try to get somethng more "young" and just feel a bit ridiculous

Sadik · 02/11/2018 17:44

Going to a gig Saturday night - electroswing so lots of dancing. Might go full steampunk with corset / long skirt but given it'll be hot I imagine I'll most probably wear 50s black lace cocktail dress (fitted/sheath style - I don't have the figure for classic 50s dresses) with military boots & tights with a big flower pattern.
