Two questions about boots: Deos anyone have any Gabor boots, and can you wear tan with grey/black?

I have been looking at various knee high boots, to hopefully keep me warm and also make a change from my ankle boots.

I like the look of some of the boots from Gabor, and thinking about getting some tan knee high boots. I already have 3 pairs of black ankle boots so thking of tan, even though I wear a lot of black and grey in winter... what do you think?

Tan goes nicely with black, grey and lots of other colours, specially now with the 70s revival. Gabor shoes are generally very comfortable, I have a few of their knee high boots; be careful because some styles look a bit dated.

I know what you mean about some of the styles looking dated... I am mid 40s and definitely want to avoid the frumpy look.

The ones I like (I think!) are these:

I was also looking at some grey nubuck ones but in my experience nubuck like suade gets very dirty easily.

I've got a pair of black suede ankle boots from Gabor and they are so comfy and don't look dated, I hope!

I like both though I’d probably go for the first pair. I think that colour looks good with both black and grey.

I love Gabor boots. I've got a pair of ankle boots and a pair of knee high tan suede ones. They're not high fashion but they're not frumpy either. I love them. They're one of the few shoe brands that I can rely on to fit and not to hurt my awkward feet.

Thanks for all the comments!

As I have become older (not ancient yet - mid 40s) I have realised I need to buy clothes for the life I have, and as such I am looking at boots that I am likely to actually wear...

I really like both of these but especially the tan ones.

I have a couple of pairs of Gabor shoes (one of which is decidedly frumpy, I think I must have been pre-menstrual that day) and they are incredibly comfortable. They do have some lovely things if you look past the granny stuff.

hi-I have the brook slim gabor in brown. They come in 3 widths.I have had loads of compliments wearing them.Tjey look great with skinny jeans in blue ,jumper, leather jacket.Really comfy too.My daughter wants to steal them so I don't think they are frumpy. She's only 11 mind you .

Headinthedrawer · 31/10/2018 08:59

Typo situation going on there.I'm in a bumpy car!

Not sure re tan and grey as I wear neither but I absolutely love Gabor boots. I've been wearing them for over ten years and replace as soon as they're too worn to wear any more. Some of the styles are dated but they have lots of really nice ones and lots of 'classic' styles too.
