High rise skinny jeans recommendations

TheChineseChicken · 25/10/2018 07:48

Looking for recommendations for high rise skinny jeans in black and blue to go with ankle boots. I don't like ones with really thin, tight material on the legs so anything with thicker, stiffer denim, please. Small waist size, 30 inch leg so they stop at the ankle. Ideally on the high street to avoid ordering and returning a whole load.

TIA

Anna last time I went in Topshop I realised I was well and truly past it

Top Shop Jamie. www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/jeans-6877054/jamie-jeans-6906622/indigo-jamie-jeans-7963889. I've just bought two more pairs, in washed black and blue black. They're ankle length so perfect with heels and ankle boots (I'm 5' 4".)

I think the Jamies are too clingy for me - too stretchy

I got some from Asda last week - called something like 'ultimate skinny jeans' , thick denim but really stretchy. To my mind loads more comfy than the Next 360 I tried and sent back. The Asda ones were £25 so more expensive than some of their jeans. I haven't washed them yet though.

Well, Levi's 721s it was! Couldn't get on with the Next sizing - every time I changed waist size the length changed and vice versa. The Levi's are really nice though, albeit three times as expensive

I like Whistles they are thick proper jeans (I find Topshop Joni and the like quite) but still very comfortable, can be expensive but often you can find for a good price in the sales.

beanaseireann · 27/10/2018 20:03

Topshop Joni, without a doubt.
My Next ones slipped down.
You might not want to give your money to Topshop though in the light of recent revelations.

We're probably running out of companies that deserve our money...

Can you link the Levi ones OP?

The photos online aren't that great - they're nicer IRL. I got the Past Time blue, which was a really nice shade

New Look Yasmin jeans are very nice (on teenage DD) but maybe not thick enough? She has some Next ones which are almost the same, but those were a charity shop find so I don't know if something similar is available still.

PerditaNitt · 28/10/2018 05:19

The French connection rebound skinny jeans are really good. However they only lasted about 12-18 months of regular wear before the denim started to wear through. Jamie from top shop do last for much longer (after watching the Stacey Dooley thing, I think I would try to go for length of service when it comes to jeans now)

babbscrabbs · 28/10/2018 07:21

Those Levi ones look great.

I like these premium H&M ones - £40 for H&M jeans seems like a lot but they've lasted me years and I've worn them hundreds of times with no bagging.

TheChineseChicken · 28/10/2018 07:48

Those H&M ones do look really nice and half the price of the Levi's!

I second the Asda ones, I've bought them 3 times now, (got bleach on others) nice and thick, stay true black. Good stretch!

TheChineseChicken · 28/10/2018 08:21

This has turned out to be a great thread - lots of recommendations! Hopefully others looking for something similar can get some inspiration

Asda wonderfit Jeans are great. They also do a 4 way stretch jean which I've not tried yet. RI jeans are good too.

eloliphant · 28/10/2018 08:40

Primarks stretch skinny are great, £9 and much better than the £40 TopShop Joni jeans I used to buy

oakthorn · 28/10/2018 08:41

Primary high waist body sculpt. Absolutely love them . Best fit I have ever had.

oakthorn · 28/10/2018 08:41

Primark for gods sake

Lotsofsausage · 28/10/2018 11:12

Topshop Jamie. A bit thicker and more structured than the Joni, which feel a bit like Jeggings to me.
