Nice fitting jumpers anywhere? Sick of the baggy, boxy styles!

Being a short pear shape, I cannot pull off oversized or baggy jumpers and it's all I can seem to find at the moment. Cropped, wide, boxy styles also seem to be everywhere.

I'm after some nice jumpers that are fitted but not skin tight, so I can feel a bit more put together with just jumpers and jeans and some nice boots. Am I having any luck? Nope! I'm quite partial to a fair isle design but the only one I could find that I liked was £140!

Anybody come across any jumpers they want to shout about recently?

Have you tried Uniqlo. Their merino fine knits are great and cheap.

LittleWingSoul · 24/10/2018 21:45

Tk maxx had some nice 'Kew' fairisle jumpers in the other day

Sadik · 24/10/2018 21:53

I just got a jumper from Uniqlo that sounds the sort of thing you want. ( this one)

THANK YOU! I’d completely forgotten about Uniqlo and TK maxx. Hadn’t considered supermarkets either so will have a look.

Hoping I can find one or two nice ones at least!

Warehouse always has slim fine knits, I buy a lot from there as I have the same problem. I look dreadful in boxy knits. I’ve also seen more fitted knits in whistles, Oliver bonas and white stuff- I think they must be back in fashion which is a relief!

mmmgoats · 25/10/2018 08:26

@sergeantpfeffer I never tend to go in warehouse I don’t know why but I think you have convinced me to cross the threshold!
It’s so annoying isn’t it, spotting a lovely jumper only to find it’s short and boxy. They look fab on some figures but definitely not mine!

Probably not much help if you need something straight away but I’ve started waiting for sales at John Smedley and looking out for it second hand. It’s £££ full price but great quality (way better than Uniqlo and I say that as a fan). And made in Britain too.

SergeantPfeffer · 25/10/2018 08:34

So annoying, they’ve been all over the high street for the last couple of years. There are whole shops I avoid (hush, for one) because everything is made for people with big boobs and small hips.

MaybeDoctor · 25/10/2018 08:39

I have seen Kettlewell recommended on here.

I’m also toying with buying M&S men’s merino jumpers.Grin

Hi OP I bought the Whistles essential Crew recently - it's very fitted. I think it's really nice.

Other than that, Other Stories here is also ok - I have some of their cashmere which is nice (and reasonably priced)

gilmoregal · 25/10/2018 08:44

I'm the same shape I think, and also prefer fitted jumpers to feel 'put together' I find Warehouse and Oasis are always good for this style and have a couple of nice hush and whistles ones too.

SergeantPfeffer · 25/10/2018 08:48

I have survived the years of boxy fashion with two whistles jumpers bought about 7 years ago- they do last well!

H and m have some lovely ones in their basic range for &8.99. They wash well ( with care ) and haven't shrunk .. nice muted colours too.
