What are your fave clothes shops?

Well, having established that Next is cheap and nasty, which clothes shops do you love? Where do you shop? Or where would you aspire to shop if you cuold afford to?

I am not a market researcher, honest! Just curious. I like Mango and Zara, and if I could afford it I'd buy half of L K Bennett. But I'd love to know if there's any fabulous shops out there that I haven't heard of.

I used to love doing 'fashion desinging' as a child - I'd spend hours designing dresses and cutting pictures of outfits I liked out of catalogues! So I've still got that streak in me now as I get very excited about new clothes!

I currently like Monsoon, Jigsaw, White Stuff, New Look, Jane Norman, TopShop, Dorothy Perkins & Primark so a wide variety! Like Primark for day to day tops - you can't go wrong at £1.50 each!

I will buy stuff anywhere if it is nice & fits, & recently discovered that age 16 stuff sometimes fits so will try that in the designery shops

Sunshinemummy, can you ask your friend at River Island why they're still called that. I remember when it first started. There was a Southern American theme and they played music in that style on a permanent loop. I found it the oddest concept for a fashion shop.
Also, didn't they replace Chelsea Girl and the stupidest men's shop name ever 'Concept Man?
(apart from in Hull which kept it's Concept Man!) Might still have it?

My faves are:

White Stuff and Fat Face for weekend gear
Kew and Jigsaw for work
Long Tall Sally for coats (I'm pushing 6')
Top Shop for helping me pretend that I'm not actually 32

New Look in it's current incarnation is excellent.

HenriettaHippo · 14/06/2007 22:28

I really really like Banana Republic, but they don't have them in the UK, so have to rely on anyone visiting the US...

also love Karen Millen and LK Bennett, but don't dare go in very often....

I also like little boutiques and surfer shops like Free Spirit.

DulwichDolly · 14/06/2007 22:30

do any of you girls shop in boutiques?
There are some pretty hot ones around... and the clothes are from european labels very different to the UK high street.....
i loooove them!

I'll ask her when I see her. Don't know if you know but it's actually a family run company and everyone reports into the two brothers that own it.

I do like H&M for their styles and affordability. Plus their kids clothes are great.

I also love Karen Millen. Sadly I havent bought anything AC but if I had the cash I would splash out there alot.

For shoes it has to be Kurt Geiger.
