What to wear to baby shower

So, going to a baby shower next weekend. First one I've ever been to. What do I wear? Obviously it'll probably be damp and chilly outside. I'm usually a stretchy jeans and jumper person during the day or smart trousers, top or dress if going anywhere at night. This is in the afternoon. Do I go for a dress or trousers? What kind of shoes?

Any tips?

Is it being held in someone’s home or at a venue? It’s not something I would dress up for unless it was being held somewhere really nice, but I’d not go in my scruffiest casuals either.

I don’t think I’d dress up, I’d just go on the smarter side of casual.

I'd probably wear skinny jeans, a top I felt good in (either long sleeved, or short sleeved with a slouchy cardigan) a nice necklace, and some non-holey socks as I'd assume I'd be taking off my footwear.
