I have a Karen Millen one, which, if I describe it sounds a bit odd - it's a cream background with a floral pattern on it that looks like granny's curtains (roses basically). I would never in a million years have picked it off the rack but a shop assistant persuaded me - she said no-one had not bought it having tried it on. and she was dead right. it's the most flattering thing ever and I have always got compliments when i wear it. but it's about 3 or 4 years old now - is it past it's use by date? or, if it looks good and suits me should I not care?

LGJ sits back and waits for GB to revert to the "old" way of doing links.

hatwoman · 13/06/2007 22:54

I would love a svelte Vietnamese type figure so I could wear a traditional Ao Dai, they are so elegant.

Ah, so BREE - you are LGJ!! I wondered.

I can't remeber how to do the links now, I have too much milk, and my norks cast too big a shadow over the keyboard.

hatwoman · 13/06/2007 22:59

and here's me thinking I can't oblige the bride because there isn't a hat that would go with it

I brought one back from Vietnam if you would like to borrow it? (a hat)

Gingerbear · 13/06/2007 23:01

bloody nora, how skinny are her legs hatwoman?

moondog · 13/06/2007 23:16

Why would you give up on it if it looks great? I still wear a couple of favourites from 5 years back.My best smart jacket is a post war grey number with nipped in waist and large mother of pearl buttons given to me about 10 years ago by my grandmother's neighbour.

It's what some arse would call 'vintage' which makes it ok no doubt.
Well vintage started out as just plain old yes?

Wear and enjoy.

good answer anniemac . exactly what I was looking for. it doesn;t have a key hole neckline. the best thing it has is a kind of wrap effect - with the fabric slightly rouched around your tum and it's incredibly flattering. I'm not big but I'm not skinny either. but i feel it in this dress.
