Finishing powder like Mac but not Mac

I have tried loads of finishing powders, most go cakey and awful looking.
The best I’ve tried is Mac Prep & Prime finishing powder. I’ve just finished the pot of it.
I want another one but the staff in Mac are always so rude that I don’t want to buy from them.
So what other nice ones are out there? I’ve tried KVD - ok but a bit cakey, MUR - made me look like I’d spent the last week in a bag of flour, Nyx - awful, Bourjois Rice Powder - too glittery, Makeup Forever - weird pot, too hard to get the powder out, oddly, I tried a Primark Rose powder & that’s quite nice but I want a loose powder and that’s a compact.
So, any suggestions? Happy to pay up to about £40.
I have dry skin & wrinkles btw.

I use a No 7 loose powder. I love it and always buy again.

Order from MAC online so you don't have to speak to them? I've been to different MAC shops and they are always lovely

I use Laura Mercier which works for me but I have oily skin so I don't know how it is on dry skin.
You can order MAC on ASOS now.

I've heard good things about Laura Mercier loose powder. Never actually used it though, it's on my list of things to try when I've got enough money to spend it on luxuries like that Grin

I love RCMA no colour powder and innisfree no sebum powder.
I also like Etude house zero sebum powder, and Elf HD powder.
All these powders are light, silica based, remove shine, and don't dry out your skin.

I am mixed race, and find that skin coloured powders can make the skin look flat and overly powdery, can cake up as the skin gets oily, and sometimes pool in the pores.

I am also going to treat myself to Too faced peach perfect loose setting powder on pay day.
I don't usually spend that much, but the reviews are great, and it seems brilliant for oil control.

Loose powders are the joy and bane of my life, too much, and my skin gets dry, too little and I shine like a beacon.
I am always on the hunt for the perfect one.

The new Charlotte Tilbury Magic Powder is fabulous. I’ve never really got on with a loose powder before this one. It is so finely milled and it stays out of my wrinkles.
My dd swears by the translucent Beauty Pie loose powder which I have read good things about too.
