Will you be wearing corduroy this season?

I bought a dark red cord mini from New Look, I will wear it soon

Branleuse · 08/10/2018 10:12

theres some gorgeous autumnal corduroy in sainsburies atm

thedevilinablackdress · 08/10/2018 11:07

Had a pair of Toast burnt orange cord trousers for a few years. Love them.

championquartz · 08/10/2018 11:29

I see marks and Spencer are doing a navy pair. And a plum, but the navy caught my eye. I saw them in store, lovely colour a jewel-y navy - but very thick cord. Ultra geography teacher, if you will. Wink Add a faint smell of wood fire and you're done. And a leather patch Grin They would need trying on.

Here they are. Usual imaginative M&S styling.

PaulaPennyfeather · 08/10/2018 19:13

Ooh championquartz I love those Massimo Dutti ones you linked upthread, and I'm sure you'll rock 'em. Are you going to get the blazer too? You should.

I'm not sure why, but the M&S ones don't grab me as much somehow. Lovely colours, tho.

championquartz · 08/10/2018 20:04

The saleswoman was wearing the full suit. But she was tall and skinny and dark and dramatic with a deep, broadcasting, spanish voice. And violently red lipstick. (And 20) And totally carried off the suit. Me? Meh, not so much, fair, 5’6”, natural make up, a little unnoticeable. Although if I bought the blazer too....Grin

Hadn’t thought of buying the blazer too. I’ll bring in the altered trews and see. Not sure.

Snog · 08/10/2018 20:54

Yeah loving the Massimo look!

@oohyoudevilyou where did you get your forest green skirt if you don’t mind me asking?

PaulaPennyfeather · 08/10/2018 22:19

Oh you can't be comparing yourself to gazelle-like Spanish 20-year-olds,, championquartz! Road to madness, or utter despondency at any rate. I think you should give the blazer a go - it's a gorgeous ensemble. All you need is a bit of a heel, a Bold Lip and a confident mien. Go on go on go on.

oohyoudevilyou · 09/10/2018 08:04

@taybert M&S - they do it in a few colours, has a little bit of lycra in, feels nice and is a good length for me (18/19 inches). At £19.50, it's a bargain.

championquartz · 09/10/2018 09:06

I’ll see PaulaP. Grin

Yup, forest green needle cord long Toast dress, worn it twice already, was sure DH would hate it (bit too Jane Eyre) but he loves it too! I also have a pair of very old Brora cord trousers in grey, very soft corduroy, handy on bitterly cold mornings when I grab Uggs and thermal vest.

mrslebon · 09/10/2018 11:08

Uniqlo are doing wide leg cord trousers but sadly I looked a dick in them. Just too flappy! The M&S ones were dreadful on me and I'm a straight up and down size 8. No idea how they got them so wrong. I'll keep looking those as I do love a bit of corduroy!

EggysMom · 09/10/2018 11:42

I don't think I ever stopped wearing cords, I just found them harder to buy for a number of years ... I've got one pair in a black-watch tartan, and I've just found the plain black pair that I bought from M&S about three months ago! (bottom of wardrobe is a black hole)

joeybarnett · 09/10/2018 15:54

Yes! It's a must!

Primark cord button skirt - one in every colour haha!

I have some cord trousers from New Look and yes they make the swooshing noise every time I walk too...I tend not to wear those a lot.

taybert · 09/10/2018 20:06

@oohyoudevilyou thanks! M&S is a corduroy paradise!
