Xmas party outfit ideas. Nearer 50 than 40....

I used to do the little cocktail dress to a t. But now I'm nearly 50 and a cuddly hourglass, I find I look matronly and mumsey.
What can I wear to look current, stylish and a wee bit sexy?
It's a do in a bar with buffet food, guys wear smart jeans and shirts but most of the females wear a going out dress....

I’d go for a jumpsuit! You have to try a few on to work out what suits, but I’m definitely a jumpsuit convert!

I'm 47. My favourite Christmas outfit is ankle boots, opaque tights, a sequined miniskirt and a fine knit boatneck. Not mega dressy but warm, comfortable and Christmassy.

I like silk shirts paired with leather trousers, or jeans with a dark or perhaps metallic finish? Then heels and a statement necklace or earrings
