Velvet jumpsuit for winter wedding?

I have a wedding to go to just after Christmas this year. I've never done a winter wedding before and haven't a clue what to wear. Tights seem strangely... Inappropriate, but how the hell else do you stay warm in church?

I'm thinking about this velvet jumpsuit, with maybe awesome chandelier earrings in dark red. Would that work? Black is acceptable for winter weddings, right?

But the faff of the toilet! You'll be freezing Grin

OP that's gorgeous and would be perfect. Winter weddings are all about plush luxe fabrics ! I think your right that a cape or wrap for church is needed for warmth and out of respect too!

Not heard of that website so off to look myself Smile

You obviously love the jumpsuit but how about wearing it to a different function and not the church wedding? I don't think it's appropriate (for several reasons) but I'm sure you'll get to wear it a few times over the run up to Christmas.

Quite a few nice wintery alternatives when you search “velvet jumpsuit “ and bet places like Zara will have more as we head closer to Christmas

Ooh, those sleeved ones are nice too, and could certainly be dressed up.

I own this and wish I had another occasion to wear it so I say go for it.

Florabelle that burgundy one is beautiful!

Very belated update. I ordered the Me&Thee jumpsuit and it's a beautiful garment, but it did make me look very straight up and down, which as I'm short and all tits and bum wasn't very flattering. I therefore returned it and ordered this lace jumpsuit from Little Mistress, which I think will look very nice with gold and pearl heels and my white fur cape.

That lace jumpsuit looks fab and very dressy/ wedding appropriate in my opinion!

Hi OP thanks for coming back - I always wonder how things go!

Good choice I like that and it'll be easy to wear again.

I'm at a winter wedding tomorrow and am planning to wear this River Island jumpsuit. But I'm not sure what style coat, shoes and bag would go with it. It's a dark grey.
