Should I keep these boots?

I got these boots on the weekend but I'm undecided about keeping them. I've got lots of shoes which are fine, but not too many "nice" boots. I'm wondering if they'd go with much? I'd love to wear them with jeans or casual skirts/dresses and tights as well as with chinos, etc in work (my office is on the more casual end of smart/casual).

they're nicer in the 'fawn' colour

I think those photos show that they should never be worn with a skirt!

Ok then. Which ankle boots ARE considered acceptable with skirts?
