They're not exactly flattering!

TuckMyWin · 25/09/2018 22:23

I have a lot of thoughts.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 25/09/2018 22:24

Flipping heck! Shock

ImperfectTents · 25/09/2018 22:52

My mother had a knitting machine . She once knitted my sister and I trews and matching tunic. I am not going there again

TinselAngel · 25/09/2018 22:58

They're probably the worst trousers I've ever seen.

They also remind me of my IKEA blanket that I have on the sofa when my legs get cold.

Also - if it's cold enough to need knitted trousers, surely you'd need them to be longer?

InTheNavy · 26/09/2018 06:12

@ImperfectTents i think this mother's knitting machine has malfunctioned!

So many questions... Who dreamed them up? What were they thinking? Who is their target customer? What occasion might one wear them for? How would you style them? How many units will John Lewis shift?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2018 06:20

Thank goodness they're a rarity.

EarlyModernParent · 26/09/2018 06:21

They look as though they have been woven from phlegm.

fabulousathome · 26/09/2018 06:39

So bad.

ontheearth · 26/09/2018 06:50

They would be such an uncomfortable mix of warm and freezing too Sad

stellabird · 26/09/2018 06:52

Worst garment I've ever seen.

MargotLovedTom1 · 26/09/2018 06:59

And if it rains.....? 😬

happystory · 26/09/2018 07:04

Imagine the bagginess.....

SayZ · 26/09/2018 07:07

Now that’s quite a look 👀😲

InTheNavy · 26/09/2018 07:09

@TuckMyWin Please publish those thoughts!

OP posts:
TuckMyWin · 26/09/2018 08:13

Oh, I'm not sure they are publishable. Especially when you take into account the coordinating footwear.

Clionba · 26/09/2018 09:00

Can you imagine what they'd look like on a non model? Or the baggy arse when you sat down? I too am the offspring of a dedicated knitting machine mum, and she created some extraordinary stuff back in the 70s, but even she may have baulked at these, god rest her.

LoniceraJaponica · 26/09/2018 09:04

Even the M and S buyer on crack wouldn't buy those!

goose1964 · 26/09/2018 09:47

Made I larf. Translation Hilarious

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/09/2018 09:48

Wow.

If I had a sleeping baby on my chest I would have woken it.

Freshprincess · 26/09/2018 21:05

My main thought is that I would have a unique combination of boiling hot arse and freezing cold ankles and feet.

Can you still get knitting machines? My auntie had one and my mum was very snooty about it not being 'real knitting'.

Clionba · 26/09/2018 21:44

My mum used to sit at hers for hours, sweeping that thing back and forth. It was very noisy. I'm just grateful she never got the idea for flared culottes.

0ccamsRazor · 27/09/2018 09:19

😲 < says it all.
