I’ve been trying to get on to HofF website for a couple of weeks now and it just says it’s not available and they’re working on it.
Wondering how long it’s going to take..
I know they are closing some stores but thought online would stay. Does anyone know?

I thought they had gone into liquidation? If that’s the case I don’t think they can take orders online

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 22/09/2018 08:47

The people that were contracted to deliver orders are owed millions which the new owner is under no obligation to pay.

You can't order online because there's no one to deliver the orders.

I sent back some clothes just before they shut it down and they're not answering emails regarding 'where's my refund?, although I can see on Collect+ they received it July 7th. I've had to go through American Express to get a refund. Bonus, got a letter yesterday advising they're refunding the whole amount and not just the dress I sent back!

From what I’ve read the previous logistics company are owed money, the new owner isn’t responsible for the debt and they are refusing to send orders or release the goods in their warehouse until they have had payment. Apparently Sports Direct lorries turned up at the warehouse to try and claim the stock but were sent away.

It is sad times in retail. The credit insurers have slashed the cover they will offer to suppliers on Debenhams, which could be the final straw for them.

Wondermoomin · 22/09/2018 17:58

Why would you want to order online with them? Confused They cancelled everyone's orders (that hadn't been despatched) and refused to refund them!!

Mumtots1 · 23/09/2018 17:52

HOF site is up again. Must have come up this morning.

megletthesecond · 23/09/2018 17:58

I'm not sure it's currently a good idea to order from them on-line.

Jandbsmum · 23/09/2018 18:53

They've disabled PayPal payments. Not a surprise there. Makes refunds too easy!

BangingOn is Debenhams in that much trouble now? Sad

MoorMummy · 23/09/2018 22:34

I went in HOF Mcr Friday eve after work and it was deader than dead. Literally a handful of customers. Sad. I did my work experience there in the 80’s.

AmperoBlue · 23/09/2018 23:15

Yep sad but I started a thread over a year ago about my local one have a massive ( very expensive) refit and how badly thought through the new store was.
They lost a lot of the brands you couldn't get in my twee market town - Desigual and Nine West shoes being the ones I might detour in for. And departments that had actual use - wedding section with hats and things.

These were replaced by high street store concessions and the rearrangement of the store so impulse buying became non exsistant. Jo Malone and men's suits right at the front of the store being the case in point. Used to be shoes and cards and stationary.

Annoyed me that I ( and everyone else) sees it and not the people getting paid a fortune to think about these things.

Buttery unless suppliers choose to trade with them over their insured credit limit then there will be a reduction in goods going into store, which won’t help them. Some suppliers might go ahead and deliver anyway, but most have been burnt over recent years with uninsured collapses and being owed a lot of money.
