When do you put make up on if you have young kids?

I used to never step out the house without makeup on when I was younger but nowadays it seems to be the other way around!

Maybe I’m not doing something right? If you have young children what time of day do you put it on and what are your kid/s doing in the meantime?

When they are napping or I wake up early to get ready.

Before I leave the house in the morning. Child 1 is watching tv and child 2 playing on the floor. It takes maybe 5 minutes.

After my shower, when DS (7mo) is usually either playing nearby or napping. If I dot don’t do it then, it doesn’t happen! But I put little on, and quickly.

Before they get up... occasionally, or while they eat breakfast or watch tv. Or fairly often in the car when they are all fastened in their car seats. I leave a mascara and eyebrow pencil in there permanently!

I get up before they do and do it after my shower. I have to be up and out for the school run so it's not like I could stay in bed longer anyway. Takes about 15 mins and I feel so much more put together for it!

I have a 7 year old and 2 year old.

On a school morning I tend to get my 2 year old dressed after breakfast and then we go upstairs. 7 year old get herself dressed. 2 year old usually goes in her room to play or pesters me 🙄. I only put on bb cream mascara and eyebrow pencil so it only take 5 mins. Weekends are better because there's more time and no rushing and dh is here to take over the kids

While they're playing on the floor in the room where I am. Older can watch TV. I get myself sorted first - clothes, hair, make up. If I did DC first, I'd never get round to myself.

I do mine first thing in the morning after my shower. If I don't do it then, then it will never get done as my 4 month old can be very clingy.

The older kids (3&1) play or watch a bit of cartoons. Then we'll all go down for breakfast after they've brushed teeth etc

I have a 1 year old. Never leave the house without makeup on unless I'm going to the gym or swimming (which is rare lol)

She wakes at 8.00, bring her into my bed for a Bf, then she plays with her toys for 20 minutes while I get dressed and do makeup. I shower and wash my hair the night before though, not in the morning, so that frees up a lot of time. I only start work at 10 so find it quite easy in the mornings which is nice.

I've got a 2 year old girl. I give her a cheap makeup brush I don't use and let her play with that while I do mine in the morning while I get ready for work.

3stonedown · 19/09/2018 13:52

Working days before 2 year old DD wakes up. Other days just when she's playing or she reads (not really reading of course) on the bed. Sometimes I give her old make up brushes and she plays with them copying me.

I have a 10 week old and and a 6 yr old. I either do it before he (baby) wakes up or I will do it after his feed whilst he lies next to me. He gives me 5min max so I need to be quick. I always shower in the evenings though and my lovely dh irons my clothes.
