If you have a lilac / pink coat how do you style it?

I saw one in a sale reduced hugely so could not resist, but I've never owned a coat in a pastel colour before.

I'm a SAHM so I dress casually. My DH and DC's laughed (in a jokey slagging way, not nastily) when I asked them what they thought of it (I was modelling it in my pyjamas at the time though so I suppose it didn't make a great impression Grin).

Now I'd like to make it look great. Any ideas on how to style it please?

This is the coat btw.

I have one that’s very similar from the Jigsaw sale. I’m planning on wearing with medium blue or light grey jeans & a cotton or cashmere jumper and ankle boots. I have a large cream cashmere scarf that will also look good with it. I think slightly softer shades will look best rather than blacks or dark navy’s.

Thank you teta, your ideas sound lovely.

I think I'll try some grey and denim with it. It won't be the easiest colour for me to match up. Tbh, I don't think it's a coat I'm going to automatically reach for and get loads of wear out of, but it will be a pleasant change and push me out of my safe zone Smile

I wear a lot of pale pink and find it very easy to wear as jumpers/tops. A pale pink coat isn’t quite as practical and maybe not for the everyday school run. But I will wear it going out, shopping, school events etc. Otherwise it’s of no use sitting in my wardrobe unworn. I have so many of those that I’m currently ebaying at the moment.

Pink and red for a funky look.
Pink red and navy for an elegant look
Pink and black/white patterned trousers (houndstooth/ gingham) for upping a mumsy look

Personally, I’d get red suede boots or a nice red bag to wear with it. Or a gold bag for some sparkle

Sorry one of those pics got cut off...

I searched on Instagram for pinkcoat hashtag to find visuals to the colour combos I was suggesting.

I get what you mean about it not being a go-to and completely or practical teta.

Thank you for all the photos ektomarie. Today I was wearing a navy top, blue jeans and grey lace up boots and it looked lovely with them.

I just have to wait for the weather to cool down sufficiently enough to wear it!

£24 reduced from £149, I had to take the chance Grin

Ooh I love it! Have one in a similar colour which is years old and it still comes out every Spring/Autumn. I find jeans and a whiteish coloured long top with converse works well for nursery/school run.
Where’s this from btw?

(Realises I’ve just described exactly what the model in OP’s pic is wearing) Blush

Hush type joggers with a cream/white sweatshirt would also work Smile

Thanks WineandDine, it's from Great Plains.
