Where to buy good quality leather bags and belts?

I’ve just come back from Italy and was so disappointed with the choice. Everything was covered in sparkles and tassels and hideous bright gold hardware.
I would like a really good quality leather bag and a couple of decent leather belts.
Any suggestions for websites or brands?

Furla, Coccinelle, the leather satchel Co all make great leather bags. Also Modalu and Ted Baker.

These are mid range priced. The designers do higher end but not necessary higher quality and the department stores like Fenwick, John Lewis and House of Fraser normally have something nice.

I really rate J Crew Signet bags both the totes and the cross body bag in plain colours. Not overpriced and excellent quality. I used to buy Mulberry pre-children but I started to notice that my older bags wore better than the newer ones and the price had almost doubled. Not worth it now.

Coach - I have been using my bag for a few months now and it looks brand new (I'm hard on my bags, so that's saying something). I'd recommend waiting for the Xmas sale.

Coccinelle - I have a purse and make up bag and both are holding up really well.

Blondie mania - lovely buttery soft leather and well made. Although, you will need to protect the leather.
