Rosehip

I am dark brown haired, medium brown eyed and light olive skinned. I normally gravitate towards earthy tones and safe neutrals, like navy, light and dark grey and deep greens/olives. Ochres/golds also seems to be good. I wasn't expecting a bright colour like the jumper to suit me, but it really does. Can you help with finding other colours that also might please?

I'm a warm spring (strongly overlapping with warm autumn, depending on how dark I die my hair) and that colour looks great on me, so I think you're likely to be a warm spring or a warm autumn.
Other colours I look good in are orange, coral, cream, gold, iris/indigo (purply deep blue), grass green and also lime green.
All the colours everyone else on MN hates, basically Grin

Oh and tan! Smile

Barbayagar · 17/09/2018 09:25

Thank you so much! I wouldn't have thought of iris and indigo, and lime green so shall have a look into those. Warm autumn sounds promising.

Yep it is a decidedly Spring colour according to that classification system.

Andtheresaw · 17/09/2018 09:31

Spring maybe but not autumn.
I'm warm autumn and could not wear that, neither anything navy, grey, gold/ochre/taupe/camel etc. Look good in burnt orange, deep green (not grass or lime) and need oyster rather than cream, ivory or white.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 17/09/2018 09:33

Oo, do me! I have dark brown hair, green/hazel eyes and warm olive skin with yellow undertones. I suit black, white, red and wine/burgundy the most...

Barbayagar · 17/09/2018 09:35

Weird! I would never have thought I was Spring given my colouring. This is so confusing. I really want to get my colours nailed as I suspect half the time they do me no favours.

Fuck olive skin is usually cool. Look at dark winter colour palettes.

Barbayagar · 17/09/2018 09:48

Fuck I don't think I suit black, well, I always feel tired and drained wearing it! I like wine and burgundy though.

I had my colours "done" and was told to wear bright jewel colours like emerald, turquoise, bright purples and pinks etc. And never wear black, brown or orange. I am v pale. She said other stuff too. No cool tones I think I can't remember. I was dragged along.

What season does that make me?

NB: I wear all the colours of the rainbow, all the time. Usually patchwork or tie dye.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 17/09/2018 09:57

show bright spring?

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 17/09/2018 10:06

Dark winter...thanks! Off to look!

Barb I suit black most with a nice red lipstick Smile

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2018 10:07

That looks about right from a cursory Google. Thank you Smile

GlubGlubGlub · 17/09/2018 16:52

I’m a deep winter and I really suit that colour. I have similar colouring to you. If you have brown eyes you are likely to be Autumn or winter, definitely not spring.

Barbayagar · 17/09/2018 17:56

@Glubglubglub, thank you, I am rosy skinned rather than sallow, are you?

OP posts:
GlubGlubGlub · 17/09/2018 18:16

I’m not rosy skinned, but that might indicate that you are cool toned, I.e. winter rather than autumn.
