Help! Is this jumper hideous or fabulous?

I have bought this jumper, but can't decide whether to keep it. I loved it in the shop but am now worried it might be a bit OTT. My DC hate it. What do you think? I would wear it with jeans and ankle boots.

OP posts:
Elledorado · 17/09/2018 08:25

I love it in pink and the shorter boxy style suits me with black skinnies, EXCEPT for the high neck which was not only unflattering on me but so high as to be uncomfortable in such a thick fabric! If it had had a lower/wider neck I would have kept it. I'm not 100% on the brown version though.

MrsBertBibby · 17/09/2018 08:27

Christ alive that mings. That pink stripe at the bottom! So cheap and nasty.

KnotsInMay · 17/09/2018 08:28

At least the NewLook one doesn’t have that awful pink detail line round the bottom.

It’s too short, too fluffy, too high necked, to blotchy, too sickly in colour, I just can’t see a single redeeming feature.

OP: take your Dc shopping with you in future Grin

championquartz · 17/09/2018 09:28

Horrible. I see it all over Instagram. Seen once on every single Instagrammer Guaranteed never to be seen twice on any of them.
100% manmade fibres. Cold and sweaty all at once. It won't be warm OP.

Followed closely by this one which is ok but 100%mmf and will be also cold and sweaty and horrible after one wash.

champ that one linked to made me heave.

Quite a feat given the shockers out there at the moment.......

madeoficecream · 17/09/2018 09:46

Its the pink and the blue which makes it great!! Not sure about the neckline though... and yes you would need to be flat chested.

The bright pink all over one is not as good...

madeoficecream · 17/09/2018 09:48

champion I love the pattern on that one you linked! But its totally the wrong shape... it should be oversized with batwing sleeves... but instead its an odd short box shape...
Its like M&S see what is stylish and then just think how they can ruin it and make it slightly frumpy.

Blankscreen · 17/09/2018 09:51

I bought the brown and thbeoibknone a couple of weeks ago.

I'm also nearly 40 and a size 12 with f cup boobs.

It was very unflattering on me and made me lookassice. It's also really short so I felt like my muffin top was about to pop out at all times

They went back.

flumpybear · 17/09/2018 09:54

😱😱😱
Says it all I think!

Btw - isn't leopard print meant to be camouflage - I can't imagine where THAT pink monstrosity may blend in 👀🤣

championquartz · 17/09/2018 10:30

PaulHollywood I kind of like the idea of the M+S one but like madeoficecream says it's all wrong irl. And is pretty horrible feeling. And cold and sweaty. A decent idea turned into a shocker.

affectionincoldclimate · 17/09/2018 10:34

Depends Grin

A willowy trendy person in a pair of skinny jeans and some chunky trainers with artfully dishevelled hair and minimal jewellery - yes.

An average sort of person with a sensible bob and sensible shoe could look frumpy.

Elledorado · 17/09/2018 10:46

Oh yeah I like the other m&s colourblock one too.

But once again the neckline is horrible. On that one, it actually looks like it's almost a turtleneck but not quite.... ugh

Justanothermile · 17/09/2018 19:51

Dd, who is 17 really likes it.

I like it, I've bought one. Both myself and dd are skinny size 6.

Guess I've got hideous taste then....

BusterGonad · 18/09/2018 02:29

I quite like it but you have to be naturally quite stylish to carry if off, what I mean is boot cut jeans and mum boots and you'll look bloody awful!

notangelinajolie · 18/09/2018 02:30

Not keen.

Monty27 · 18/09/2018 02:37

It's a crime against fashion Shock

Tattybear16 · 18/09/2018 02:39

You spent money on this, get yourself off to specsavers as soon as you can.

1forAll74 · 18/09/2018 03:29

I like this jumper. I have two fluffy ones very similar, mine have a slightly smaller animal print on them, one jumper is a brown and cream animal design. the other black and cream animal design. But I bought mine off ebay auction for £3 each.. But, I have made mine into cardigans., which is quite easy to do. If you just cut up the front carefully, and then hem both sides carefully, you won't have any fraying at all. You can then wear the cardie with jeans, leggings,or skirt, with a matching top underneath. as in a bit more versatile.

Sorry for all the blurb, I have form for cutting up and altering clothes !!

BusterGonad · 18/09/2018 04:47

Topshop had one like this and I wanted it! I didn't get it though but it was lovely.

WorthEveryPenny · 18/09/2018 07:57

No no no from me, sorry!

LaLaLolly · 18/09/2018 10:29

Trumpton I think your MIL looks fabulous in that jumper

Barbayagar · 18/09/2018 10:37

@Trumpton, jumper really suits your MIL, she rocks it, and it is lovely!

Bluelady · 18/09/2018 10:48

Trumpton's MiL's jumper is the only one on this thread I'd wear. The rest are ... words fail me.

Trumpton · 18/09/2018 11:35

Ah thank you all for the kind mentions of MIL . She is a legend , still loves her clothes at 95 !
