Bridesmaid dress this is. Friend has just rung me and told me what dresses she is going to try and get today, and god it looks so long, and i know it's meant to be but hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

mmmm not sure tbh. I am a short arse too, and can;t wear really long dresses

singingmum · 09/06/2007 15:07

Hope that you will also get to wear very high heels with dress
I have v.long dress and am only 5'3 and I always wear it with heels to make it seem better. It works(then again in the catalouge the woman wearing the dress has it only half way up her calfs but for me floor length almost)

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 15:09

We are wearing heels but still think i might look odd.

Tbh am not mad about the whole dress, but obviously will wear what I am told to.

Awww bless dd2, just shown her the pic and her eyes nearly popped out of her head and she said 'aww, you will look like a princess'.

You might have a problem with the bow on that dress - it's pretty huuuuge.

Otherwise nice, though - I'm sure you'll look lovely, nutty.

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 15:48

Hmm yep and not keen on bow either tbh, i am not a bow person.

Sounds awful, but am kinda hoping they don't have the amount and sizes that she needs as i currently prefer the other one she was considering.

I am a short arse too and find that floor length dresses are better than ones a bit shorter, somehow, with heels, they add a bit of length to my very short legs. Saying that, only tried it with black ball gown type dresses, not baby blue...

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:26

Oh well, will have to see, might be going to try one on tommorow, depends if i can find somene to have the kids.

ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:31

It'll probably be okay as not material from neck to floor if you see what I mean, so won't be too shortening. Hope you have nice shoulders though!

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:38

Errrr dunno LOL.

ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:42

Well go look in the blardy mirror nutty. Is disastrous dress if you haven't got good shoulders. Will be very necessary to do rapid sweet talking of bride if that is the case. Doesn't matter about looking SHORT if you're well, oh look, go look in the mirror now.

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:43

What do good shoulders look like then ??

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:44

I prefer this one.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:44

Okay, basically they are straight - they do NOT slope. They are slender. Skin is nice. Upper arms are slender. Collar bone is visible.

Also for this dress - how's your neck?

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:45

Hmm they do slope, but other than that i think they are in ok condition, and upper arms are ok, am gonna try toning them up even more though.

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:46

Neck is ok i think.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:46

Yes is better on I think. Though still there is the whole shoulder thing but. . .

also on the other one the model has a sort of wrap across her arms - this might be your saving grace is upper arms are found wanting. . . .

ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:47

Sorry is better 'a better one' - your choice that is. I haven't rushed off to try them 'on' in order to advise more cogently. lol

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:47

Oh well, whole thing is out of my hands really so will wear what I am given and hope.

Hideehi · 09/06/2007 17:47

I like the other debenhams one better too.

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:48

LOL, yeah i prefer the second one, and she did consider it but now is trying to get first ones as they are cheaper.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 09/06/2007 17:48

Sloping is fine, you can just stick your tits out for the day.

Is bride open to suggestions do you think?

NuttyMuffins · 09/06/2007 17:49

Hmmmm possibly yeah. I think if she can't get the ones in the first link, and she needs 6 by the way, in various sizes, then she will hopefully go for the ones in second link.
