100% cotton knickers - I can't find any for love nor money. Help!

I have a fussy fanjo and I get all irritated by lycra and elastene and all that business. I used to be able to go into M&S and buy 100% cotton knickers, which my fanjo likes. But oh no, they're all cotton rich and cotton mix now. The woman looked like this Hmm at me when I asked about 100% cotton.

I've looked online and it's the same story - I can only find mixed lycra etc, not 100% cotton.

Surely I can't be the only one needing a bit of cotton next to my privates. Sad

Any ideas - or any suggestions on what else I can look for that won't give me an itchy fanjo?

As long as it has a cotton gusset it should be Ok?

fairiedemon · 14/09/2018 15:27

M&S do ‘pure cotton’ which is 100% cotton. You don’t get the fancy patterns but it’s better than the alternative

TantricTwist · 14/09/2018 15:28

I have 100% cotton ones from M&S, mind you they are plain black but thats what I like.

SlimDogMillionaire · 14/09/2018 15:30

Sainsburys

Primark usually do some 100% cotton stuff. Also, you can find some good stuff at TK Maxx if you root around. They often have multipacks of Pretty Polly cotton knickers.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/09/2018 15:38

Do they not need some sort of elastic to stop them falling down?

idontknowwhattohave · 14/09/2018 15:40

I've just looked on M &S website and if you put the pure cotton filter on it comes up with quite a few different styles mainly plain not patterned

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2018 15:45

Thanks all - I’m having another look on M&S website now. Can’t stand whiteConfused

In Next today I saw some that were 95% cotton. The 5% elastane would just be to hold them up, surely? A pack of 5 for £8, would those be OK?

Movablefeast · 14/09/2018 15:56

I hear you OP, always have to have a good rummage around when wanting 100% cotton niknoks. We lived in Germany for a few years and I LOVED their commitment to high quality cotton underwear for women! It can be done well but I find the quality in the UK and US has really gone downhill.

pigeondujour · 14/09/2018 15:57

I get mine from Primark. I actually wish nobody would bother making underwear that wasn't 100% cotton.

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2018 16:06

Ok M&S are sold out.

Just got some from Matalan

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2018 16:18

Thanks for other suggestions, will def try Primark next time I’m in.

I have cotton rich multipack onesfrom M&S - they are 5% lycra but only for the stretch to hold them up, Gusset is 100% cotton.
They are my sleeping/weekend/riding pants.
I need VPL free ones for work but love the cotton ones.

I always have to order online as they are never in stock in the shops.

Jolonglegs · 14/09/2018 16:30

How about these - www.shopstyle.co.uk/browse?fts=100%25+cotton+knickers

thenightsky · 14/09/2018 16:32

I got F&F ones in Tesco, but they never seem to have my size when I've looked recently. Cannot find them on line either.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 14/09/2018 16:40

Debenhams £7 for 5. Decent apple catchers too

AgathaRaisinDetra · 14/09/2018 16:59

^^. Do you have an orchard and mean this literally or are you just very lazy about going to the lav?

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2018 17:00

Jo - thanks, saw that link when I googled this afternoon but some of those are cotton mix when you look at the details. And the first out of stock my size.

So we’re pretty sure generally that if it says 5% elastene, that’ll not be anywhere near the gusset, just for round the waist? How have my previous 100% cotton knickers managed all these years?

I have a similar problem OP. My dermotologist told me to wear 100% cotton boxers. I've also switched to 100% cotton reuseable sanitary pads. I know this won't be for everyone but thought I'd mention it.

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2018 20:48

Bad - no need to explain Grin, I was on cloth pads for years too. Just about through menopause now so no need for that these days.

I've got some from Morrisons - multipack of 4 or 5 I think (beige and black). They're either full briefs or midis. Also have some midis in 100% cotton from M&S though there weren't many available.
