how often do you go?

what do you have done?

are you loyal to a salon or hairdresser or would you go anywhere?

Wish i had any hairdressing habits. Every time i go to a salon they NEVER CUT IT RIGHT AND I ONLY WANT A LAYERED BOB!!!! Arrrrggghhhh!! Soerry to shout but it's soooo frustrating!!! Did have reg salon but think £40 odd quid and then travel costs /parking on top just for a trim a bit steep!

BishyBarneyBee · 08/06/2007 22:23

I go once every two months for cut and colour and inbetween for a t-section.

Have dark bob.

Would follow my hairdresser anywhere - I love her. She went on holiday and I selfishly sulked.

As a hairdresser myself, i know all local salons a little too well, i don't trust anyone actually, they all cock it up, scalp you does my head in literally! lol.

Wish i could take off my head and do it myself properly, infact most of the time i do try and cut it myself very difficult though.

I am just starting to think about becoming a mobile hairdresser, and i am going to put the motto "i will cut your hair the way YOU want, not the way i choose to!" on the leaflets

I go to local salon. Started off as a barbers but now have a woman who does the women!
Consequently pretty cheap, very cheap for round here.
Went just today, had it washed/conditioned, cut, blow-dried and straightened. Cost £18.50.
Happily do dry cuts or just wet it down cuts, no blow drying, costs about £7.
Men's cuts are £7.50, kids £4.50.
Am loyal now as I love my hairdresser, she is very funny, we have a laugh, she "gets" my hair and doesn't intimidate me.

I go every couple of months.

Pucca, where do you live?? You sound fab!!!!!

GibbonInARibbon · 08/06/2007 22:28

Trim every 8 weeks or so - sometimes I colour it myself, sometimes I get it done when having it trimmed.

I moved 60 miles from my hairdresser and did go back to her till DD was born, have never settled anywhere since

MrsBadger · 08/06/2007 22:28

I go four or five times a year and have two inches cut off the ends - it's so simple almost any numpty can do it so I am not loyal.
However if I can I try and co-ordinate it with an event (wedding, work party etc) so they blowdry it nicely for the evening and I have found one particualrly good blow-dryer who understands I do not want to look like Jennifer Aniston c.1994...

Walbert - pmsl!

I live in Chorley, Lancs.

What bugs me the most, the odd time i have tried a salon where i don't know how crap the sylists are they are that busy chatting away i am sure they are not even looking at what they are doing! i don't want a bloody chat! i want a decent hair cut!

It is great though, when half way through you say "i am a hairdresser too" they squirm, honestly, then they are all paranoid that you are watching the angles they are cutting it...hilarious! but cruel i suppose

pucca · 08/06/2007 22:32

Stylists doh!

saralou · 08/06/2007 22:32

one of my oldest closest friends does it

only she lives 150 miles away

i wait for her to do it... hasn't been done since january

(hair trauma's as a child, can't trust just anyone!!!!!)

walbert · 08/06/2007 22:32

I don't. Boo. Will have to continue looking like a numpty then.

lucykate · 08/06/2007 22:35

i go every 6-8 weeks and have a dry trim for £13 (i have a jaw length layered bob), don't like having my hair washed and dried there. the washers are usually too rough and rip your hair out by the roots, and then they plaster you in products making it all sticky.

colour it also every 6-8 weeks myself, i use a really cheap colour, schwartzkopft country colours - dark blonde. have tried loads and this colour is the closest to my natural colour. i only really use it to hide the grey.

themoon66 · 08/06/2007 22:38

two or three times a year. But my hairdresser is such a whizz at cutting that it keeps its shape really well.
