How to create a 1940s hairstyle with afro(ish) hair

It doesn't need to be authentic/real!! Just a reasonable facsimile Wink

DD's hair is very curly/mixed/not really afro.....she is 20 so will manage if I explain properly

& I'm not very good with hair - will this work?

If the night before she twists the 2 front bits of her hair and leaves then in over night (with conditioner)
Then sort of shapes them into sausage shapes using hidden kirby grips to hold them?
And then puts all of the rest of her hair into a snood also fixed with kirby grips?

Will that work/look ok?

You buy fabric sausage things that you roll up in your own hair to create the rolls IYSWIM

A heartshaped silhouette is the thing for 40's hair so what you're planning should be fine

I actually saw a chignon type styler thing in Primark over the weekend like a slim elongated bun ring.

This might help
