What products do you use on your curls

I have very curly long hair but it tends to go flat at the back. I've been using John Frieda serum and gel scrunched through but it gets sticky and knotty. I dont want to wash it every day because it takes forever to dry.

What wise can I use that won't make it matted and knotty but still defines my curls?

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried leaving in a conditioner or curl cream, then putting gel over the top and once it's dry, scrunching out the hardness of the gel?

I follow the curly girl method and that's a part of it.

I've tried curly girl but my hair looked awful on it. I do use curl cream but no longer use gel because it makes my hair totally knotty.

My hair isn't as long as yours, but my favourite combination at the moment is shea moisture leave in conditioner and pantene number 5 mousse.

I don’t use Curly Girl either, tried it and it just didn’t work for me. I use Tresemme Botanique shampoo and conditioner, then as PP suggested curl creme and V05 gel spray which I scrunch into it. I let it air dry and then scrunch out the crunch which leaves me with nice uniform curls. The day after I use Cantu curl reviver spray which I now couldn’t be without!
I have to say in all honesty though, the real answer here is probably to have some of the length off. I used to have curls down to my mid back and they never lasted more than a day without looking tangled and frizzy. I had a hair cut mishap which meant I ended up with it just above my chin (I would NEVER have gone that short through my own choice!) and it’s transformed my life! My curls last three days now and the time taken styling them has more than halved!

Thanks. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow for a trim anyway but don't want to have too much cut off.

I'll look out for the curl reviver spray.
