I have just bought a white summer handbag.

This one here

As I felt the wrath of MN descend if I stuck to my winter bag.

Now, I find, from a Friend Who Follows Fashion, that I should have bought a metallic bag, to use through the autumn.

I am now broke and unstylish, rather than just unstylish.

Could of had a holiday for that then just used an old Sainsburys carrier bag

malmaman · 07/06/2007 21:54

£800 for a handbag is...just...wrong

MrsSpoon · 07/06/2007 21:55

ROFL at Furball, yes you could have had a fortnight in my apartment (I have just put a new special offer on my thread in the Small Business ad section) plus flights for a family of four!

It is a nice bag though, are you going to padlock it to your arm?

cylonbabe · 07/06/2007 21:56

nice handbag. shame about the price tag.
i would never ever ever pay that much for a handbag.
shoes now. thats a different story. assuming i could afford them. and liked them emough.....

twinsetandpearls · 07/06/2007 21:56

I'd never spend that much on a bag even if I were a millionaire!

twinsetandpearls · 07/06/2007 22:00

I have spent that much, well almost, but then wouldn't come on here for sympathy

sloaneranger · 07/06/2007 22:04

well i approve, well done you!

malmaman · 07/06/2007 22:05

I think spending that much one singular material thing such as a handbag would probably make me physically sick with nerves if you get what I mean!

sloaneranger · 07/06/2007 22:07

well most large purchases make me feel sick - like buying a house, kitchen, car bills etc..

You could always get another bag in the autumn

PinkMartini · 07/06/2007 22:07

Especially not a white one which will doubtless get filthy quickly.

What is your winter handbag?

UCM · 07/06/2007 22:09

S'ok was just about to steam in (har har) and defend the fish, no need so will go back to my ironing and baking ( with a kid kathston of course)

milge · 07/06/2007 23:14

You lot can be so humourless. I wasn't looking for sympathy - just trying to prove that you can't please all the people all the time.
Cod should be happy now I have a summer handbag, though my fashion conscious friend advises with her tongue firmly in her cheek that i have picked the wrong colour.
I really give up on Mn sometimes!

Milge, don't, I started using a Summer handbag about 2 months ago.

Verso · 08/06/2007 07:02

Surely this is a wind-up?!

MrsSpoon · 08/06/2007 12:17

Don't go, I was having a laugh too Milge.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/06/2007 12:54

always a bit unsure about the Chloe Paddington. Just a touch of the Chavness about it, non? Je n'aime pas le blanc, aussi...

You could have probably got a Next rip-off for about £14.99.

Shame, that.

Is it not a bit dancey-roundy?

But then, I speak as one who has the fashion sense of a cattle-grid.

bosscat · 08/06/2007 18:50

I've just bought 2 white bags for summer but not sure I'd invest that much money in a proper leather day to day one. I like bags but that is serious money still if you've got it why not?
