Should a lady pirate have a tattoo?

OK so my outfit is for best dressed lady at the village fete competition (this years theme is Pirates, obviously).

So far I have:

Very long and horrid dark brown pinafore dress thing that I plan to wear back to front and unbuttoned so I can expose a wee bit of cleavage.

Wench top over the top of the dress.

Pirate wench wig (long, braids, ribbons etc)

Bandana/scarf thing over the top of that

Hauuuuuuge gold earings

Something is missing. Am still looking more gypsy wench that pirate lady.

Do you think a tatoo (washoffable obviously) would do it? And of what (skull & cross bones a bit overdone??)

Or a gold tooth?

I think a parrot or an eyepatch would be OTT, and authentic pirate ladies never had those anyway.

What do you think...what am I missing here?

Also carry a sword or scimitar or something like that? I think having a parrot on your shoulder would work, actually, if you could get one (OK, yes, a bit OTT, but it's fancy dress).

If you were a bloke you could have a tattoo of a treasure map on your chest, but in your case that might be less advisable...

Yes, have not a massive bosoom so would not be a very large or elaborate map. Here is a small palm tree on the top of one boob, and here is x marks the spot on the other.

You can get parrots (the plastic variety) from costume shops, but I think DH wants one for his outfit.

Could make myself a cutlass (ooooh themed craft activity to do with DC)
