OMG How cosy does this coat look! But would it be a fashion faux pas?

Love this... but would it be a mistake?

I just love to be warm Grin

I was actually on a quest to find a nice black parka but got side tracked!

It looks very cosy but sadly looks like a dressing gown!

DelilahandDaisy · 02/09/2018 22:06

Pretty sure I had that coat at preschool in the 70s. Stick to the black parka!

StrawberryShortie · 02/09/2018 22:07

It looks very cosy but sadly looks like a dressing gown!

I think that's why I'm drawn to it Grin

I've seen teddy coats in a few shops lately. They have a thicker one that's shorter in topshop that I want bad. It looks so cosy too

Methe · 02/09/2018 22:08

I’ve actually got a dressing gown that looks just like that! I think it was £8 in Tesco so keep your eyes peeled you might get a bargain Wink

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 02/09/2018 22:09

It might look cosy but I suspect the wind would whistle straight through it

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/09/2018 22:10

No it is horrible Grin
My 16yo DD loves OU , she would make a bee-line for that coat .

I bought her one from Primark ( same type of material, more jacket-like with buttons ) for £25 in early August (at her insistance )
She loves it , but she can carry it off with the folly that is youth .

Namethecat · 02/09/2018 22:10

Another one that says dressing gown. And if you live in the UK - May I remind you it rains, a lot.

FesteringCarbuncle · 02/09/2018 22:15

There are some gorgeous teddy costs about that don't look like dressing gowns

pictish · 02/09/2018 22:19

Ugh no. It’s a horrible colour and looks like lounge wear. It would be horrible in the rain and crap in the wind. It’s really just for posing around in.
That said, if you’re taken with it then obviously you should buy the ghastly thing. Wink Grin

AsAProfessionalFekko · 02/09/2018 22:20

Awwww ds had one like that when he was about 18months.

BarbaraHepworth · 02/09/2018 22:22

I wish I were young enough to wear that. Lovely! But not practical for normal people. The name 'chuck on jacket' is a warning Bear.

SomewhereNow · 02/09/2018 22:22

I’ve just bought my DD a teddy coat for 6th form, it’s a relief to have found a coat she actually wants to wear! It does look very cosy and cute but she’s 16 with a figure to die for so would look lovely in anything lucky thing.

ProseccoPoppy · 02/09/2018 22:24

My DD has something very similar. Except hers has ears. She’s 2.

It does look warm but I wouldn’t wear it out,

BusterGonad · 04/09/2018 13:03

I've got 2 teddy coats from Topshop, one cream and one bright blue, mine are like a pea coat style. I love em

BusterGonad · 04/09/2018 13:05

OMG How cosy does this coat look! But would it be a fashion faux pas?
wellhonestly · 04/09/2018 13:08

No fastenings! Outdoors you wouldn't be cosy for long. I think it looks lovely for snuggling into on the sofa, though.

AveABanana · 04/09/2018 13:27

Depending on the shape of your face and how tall you are, you'd either look like a llama or a sheep.

RatherBeRiding · 04/09/2018 13:37

You would always need at least one hand free to keep it anchored in the wind. We get a lot of wind in this country. And rain. I reckon it would be useless in both. Fine for a nice calm, crisp, dry autumn day but it doesn't look very practical!

megletthesecond · 04/09/2018 13:40

I knew this would be a teddy coat.
You'd look like an overgrown baby. Put some ears on the hood Grin.

Winterwoman007 · 04/09/2018 13:44

It's the kind of clothing that unless you are either a teen or you don't care what people think which would also mean you would unlikely to be asking us the question, avoid it.

Nettletheelf · 04/09/2018 14:26

Christ, it’s terrible. Don’t buy it.

NotTakenUsername · 04/09/2018 14:32

This thread. Grin

It would be a mistake.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 04/09/2018 14:53

Actually, with all the current news about furries, I'd give it a miss.

IAmSproutycus · 04/09/2018 14:55

Sorry, it’s hideous. But don’t let that stop you, I wear all sorts of shite 😁
