Time to put away my basket bag? But what bag colours for A/W?

I’ve carried a basket bag to death this summer (and despite what I’m about to say will probably continue to do so for a while!). But I’m thinking that it’s nearly time to box it away for next year.

So, I’m on the hunt for something new. And (because I’m feeling daring) I’m going to move away from my standard leather choice of black or grey. But considering everything that’s coming into shops for new season, what colours should I be looking at?

I do love with this mushroom colour ...

But also mulling over a red (claret) like this ..

Any good - or worth a rethink? Decisions, decisions.

The red is nicer. I think red bags go with everything.

MadMaryBoddington · 31/08/2018 08:14

I’ve got a mushroom one and it’s very versatile.

That's true about red NewUserName. And I'm very much loving those deep wine-y red at the moment.

Oh that's good to hear MadMary. I think this is what I'm leaning towards. A new colour for me bag-wise but it's just lovely. Am having a search around for other styles in that tone :)

Am also thinking of buying something in mustard, my favourite colour at the moment.

That's lovely CheesyMonster! That colour!

I'm going through a burnt orange phase with my wardrobe at the moment - hence the mushroom/beige search. I hoping it will all work nicely.

It's called "peacock".

Burnt orange sounds lovely too.

TomHardysNextWife · 31/08/2018 13:03

I've got a red Osprey bag on the go at the moment. I love the colour and it pretty much goes with everything. It was a good investment.

MulberryPeony · 31/08/2018 18:55

The mushroom one looks more expensive than the red one imho. i have bags in similar colours and find both versatile. I like the peacock one cheesy posted too. I could see that going with a lot of colours.

If you're thinking of the Village England one, they have 20% off till midnight tonight with code BIRTHDAY20
You can use it on sale stuff too. I have a red Cranleigh, similar size and shape to the one you linked and I really like it (it's in the sale if you want to check it out!) Grin

Not a radley fan but that red bag is lush.

I'd go red or mustard to go with autumnal tones.

XingMing · 31/08/2018 21:03

I bought a mustard bag a couple of years ago, and honestly, it goes with everything if you generally wear muted neutrals.

Grace32 · 01/09/2018 01:25

Oh no ArkAtEee I just got home and it's after midnight! I've gone and missed it! Oh well - it's a decent price regardless :)

I think I'm starting to agree MulberryPeony!
