Don't really know where to post this.... I have a tattoo that I still like however I just don't like where it is anymore. Has anyone had one removed? Is it removed completely? (I figure half removed will look worse?) What's your experience? BTW my parents still don't know I have this. I am getting on for 40...

I started to have mine lazered off but ran out of money, the removal looks great but it was so expensive and quite painful, one day it'll be gone completely though.

I particularly like the fact you get a piece of dowl to bite on with the iron... I take it I will be an old lady with a very 1990's sun on my crepey (sp?) bingo wings. Ah well.....

I had a large black & red tattoo removed from my upper left arm about 7/8yrs ago. Had to go private, and should have 1 session a month for best result. However, couldn't afford that so had it done every other month. Took just over a year all together, but was def worth it. You can only see small remnants now if i get a tan, as the tattooed parts don't catch the sun.
It was really painful though (felt like i imagine hot chip fat sprayed on you would feel!). I always took something to bite on, and one of those squidgy stress balls to hold in other hand, otherwise think i might have scarred palm of hand digging own nails in!
Also, i think certain colours are more difficult than others to remove, especially yellow and green.
I still love my other tattoos, but if i suddenly hated them, the pain (or cost) of removal wouldn't put me off doing it again.

HTH.
