Going to a friend's wedding at the end of July.
Have ordered this dress (as well as two others as really wanted a different fabric, but time is running out!)

Thinking of black hat with large brim?
And high shoes as I'm 5ft 2inches tall.

TIA.

To be honest I wouldn't go with the black hat because of the white belt on the dress. Would you find white shoes/hat too much ?

Boredveryverybored · 05/06/2007 15:15

Yeah I think I'd go for a white hat with that dress, I don't think black will go with it.
Am not sure about shoes..will go think

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:16

I see what you mean - can you tell I usually wear jeans?
Maybe white hat and black shoes then?
All white might be a bit much.

is the belt white or cream....Think I'm with TT would go for a cream hat and shoes and maybe a cream pashmina/shawly thing....Dress is beautiful btw, really lovely !!!

MrsBadger · 05/06/2007 15:17

black hat?!
nooooo!

monstrously unflattering also
get cream or natural straw colour, ditto bag
will find you lime shoes

read this before choosing hat

Boredveryverybored · 05/06/2007 15:18

Do you really need to wear a hat? could you not get a pretty hair piece in a matching colour?

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:18

Hmm... belt looks white on photo, but the dress hasn't actually arrived yet, so can't be 100% sure.
Dark green hat? Or would that be hideous?

DD wants me to wear a fascinator, but I'm not so sure.

Boredveryverybored · 05/06/2007 15:19

No don't get a green hat, too much green I think

Boobsgonesouth · 05/06/2007 15:20

IF it is cream....
what about these
..or something similar.....
(hope link worked)

Boredveryverybored · 05/06/2007 15:20

I think a fascinator would be nice, with a little bit of green in it. Then cream/white shoes.

Boredveryverybored · 05/06/2007 15:21

Nope link doest work. lol

Budababe · 05/06/2007 15:22

LOVELY dress. Check if belt is white or cream before buying hat though. You should be able to get lovely shoes in green.

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:22

Intrigued by what lies behind the link now!

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:23

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:25

Nice sandals

tokentotty · 05/06/2007 15:29

Sorry, meant to also say that I REALLY like Mrs B's Hobbs shoes.

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:34

As a jeans and trainers girl, what would I wear on my legs if I went for open toed shoes/sandals.
I usually wear hold ups on the rare occasions that I let my legs see the light of day.

OP posts:
tokentotty · 05/06/2007 15:35

To be honest, if it's summer then nothing but some Johnson & Johnson lightly tanning moisturiser....

BrothelSprouts · 05/06/2007 15:36

Oh blimey - my legs are practically see-through , they are sooooo pale.
I have about six weeks - is this enough time to make them fit for public viewing.
And I always get streaks when attempting self-tan.
