pale blue
cream
white
pink

Ulysees · 05/06/2007 08:50

pink was the first colour that sprang to mind.

Ulysees · 05/06/2007 08:50

Has he got the colouring for yellow?

Tutter · 05/06/2007 08:51

dh often wears pale blue (plain, or subtle check/stripe) with tan/chino type trews and brown shoes when he doesn't need to wear a suit

Ulysees · 05/06/2007 08:51

even green, the list is endless

brimfull · 05/06/2007 08:53

hmmm green would look a bit like a homebase manager's uniform to me

Ulysees · 05/06/2007 08:58

pistacio green's nice. There are so many shades. Would he wear a pattern?

MrsBadger · 05/06/2007 09:55

depends on his colouring

dh wears white, pale blue, pale pink or any of those combinations in stripes - Gap are a v good source of casual and semi-casual striped shirts.
Navy can work if the trorsers are light and chino-y coloured but not if choc brown.

Assume this is sans tie?

LoveMyGirls · 05/06/2007 11:55

He's ginger i should have added!

He always wears a tie, yeh i htink he'd wear a pattern, depends he cant go ott as he is wearing it to work in an office.

Thanks everyone, you are really helping i have no clue!

if ginger then certainly try greens and probably avoid pink

blue v good if he has blue eyes but go carefully if they are green or brown (like mine) as blue can make shadows and wrinkles look much much worse.

LoveMyGirls · 05/06/2007 12:41

Thanks very much, he has hazel eyes so probably best to stick with greens, honestly though green? Green and brown? I really am out of fashion i'd never have put those two together ever. So far he's been wearing a cream shirt with a brown/ goldish tie, brown trousers and tan shoes.

Don't see why he couldn't have stuck to black shoes and trousers, i guess he fancied a change but we're really skint right now and he doesnt own a green shirt so now he's going to have to spend loads of money on a load of new shirts and ties all for the sake of buying brown shoes and trousers. Black goes with everything, never goes out of fashion......... can't you just tell im a jeans and t-shirt type of person, mainly due to the fac t we have small children and I can't afford to be fashionable I also want to be comfortable

lemon

TenaLady · 05/06/2007 12:46

my ds is dark auburn and looks a delight in pink (pale)

Tutter · 05/06/2007 12:47

really have to disagree on the green shirt thing

think it would ming imho, and can't imagine it looking smart

pale blue perfectly lovely with any colour hair

am going to find some pics to convince you...

Tutter · 05/06/2007 12:56

ok, can't find any pics online of men in chino and blue shirt combos, but trust me

(otherwise will have to take a pic of dh )

seamonster · 05/06/2007 12:59

If they are chocolate brown then maybe turquoise-ish blue. Can he wear stone/pale beige? Sorry, I'm just repeating everyone else aren't I?

LoveMyGirls · 05/06/2007 13:02

Theyre not really dark brown actually fairly light and the shoes are definately tan.

I would say a soft purpley heathery sort of colour if he is red headed

LoveMyGirls · 05/06/2007 13:13

humm i htink he's got a couple of purple shirts actually, thats quite a good idea, hadnt thought of that!

SoMuchToBits · 05/06/2007 13:13

I wouls say if he has auburn hair and hazel eyes, then cream, olive-type greens, turquoisey/teal colours or coral/peach tones would be good.

CountessDracula · 05/06/2007 13:13

they look fab on redheads (i have one too!)

my sister is ginger and pale pink is lovely on her

dh wears beige chinos and brown shoes a lot and blue and pink are good for shirts. at this time of year he has a few short sleeved checked shirts that work (but please not tucked in with a tie! I have a thing about short sleeved shirts with ties, don't like! mind you dh was spotted wearing socks and sandals yesterday so it's a slipepry slope from here!!)
