the tan looked great I had the california tan one
BUt the things you have to endure to get it
Strip bollock naked, wear paper pants and stand with your arms out like playing aeroplanes (a la Laura Ingalls Wilder) while some orange, over made up, bleached blonde bored shitless tanning boot assistant hoses you in a nasty silver booth with orange snot.
Aside from that it's fab...

lou33 · 04/06/2007 23:14

you'd make a great sales consultant for that kind of thing piff!

BishyBarneyBee · 04/06/2007 23:17

ooohh have wondered about this, don't think I'd have the guts to stand there naked.

I do know I'm never using johnsons tanning moisturiser again,my legs are jaffa orange and streaky after one application ffs!

fireflyfairy2 · 04/06/2007 23:20

I never get naked!!!

I keep my knickers on, wear my oldest bra & fold the straps down!! Never in a million years would I let some young perfectly made up thing see my floppy boobies!!

kittylette · 04/06/2007 23:27

I had one done when my son was 3 months old, i looked a state ill tell you (my body not the tan) stood there in paperknickers with droopy tit, huge belly and more strechmark stripes than a zebra!! i wanted to die on the spot!!

the tan looked good after though!

BishyBarneyBee · 04/06/2007 23:28

now does it look good straight after or does it need a few days to settle down?

I am going to an event and I want to know if I should do it well in advance or the day before.

I usually get it done the day before.

Though my sister gets her done 2 days before, give it a day to settle & if it is streaky she goes back for a top up the day before

LoveAngel · 05/06/2007 06:51

I have the St Tropez one done. Its quite dark, but quite natural looking (not too Tango-tastic). Two tips: Get it done 2 days before an event, as firefairy's sister said - gives it time to settle down. And when they say 'stand still for a few mins and then get dressed' make sure you stand still for about 10 mins. Don't ket them rush you out of the booth. It develops much better if you give it 10 mins or so to settle.

p.s. the nekkidness is worth it. Its so hassle free compared to doing t yourself.
