Please help a frumpy size 18 find something beautiful to wear for my Xmas do

Feeling all fat and horrible and work are on about their Xmas do.

I want to look fabulous but am very unlikely to lose weight by then. I am trying but it's not happening.

I need the tops of my arms covered, I wear a lot of off shoulder stuff usually, I don't mind colours at all but would love something flattering to wear for my fat arse pear shape. Budget is around 100 but can do a little more if I find something beautiful.

sorry for mentioning Xmas in August
Thank you.

Scarlett & Jo have some beautiful dresses. I’m an 18 and that’s where I get all my fancy dresses from. They’re really flattering.

How about something black and glittery? If you are conscious about your shape black will flatter you but the glitter will make it more festive and dressy. If you don't mind me asking whats your age? Or your age range at least

I would go for a simple black glitter dress with 3/4 sleeves that fits the shape of your body and comes just above the knees

Alternatively, a loose fitting midi skirt (the type that is fitted at your waist then flares out like a big A-line skirt) and a fitted jumper or 3/4 top. Red skirt black top? I also think teal green is such a beautiful winter colour, teal skirt and black top? I'd also match shoes and accessories (nice heels, little bag, big dangly earrings like those fabric ones everyone is wearing) with the brighter skirt so it attracts attention towards the brighter colours

I'm sure you will look beautiful whatever you wear x

Thank you, I've never heard of them so I'll go have a look.

A black fitted skater dress, on or below the knee with lace sleeves looks festive and is flattering. I got one last year and it was complimented. (size 14-16 and very short so probably similar shape to you.0
This is the sort of thing that worked for me. Spend the £100 on really good heels (M&S suede foot glove stilettos are v comfortable if you carry extra weight), some striking jewellery and really good lipstick and nail polish. You'll look lovely.

Have you had a look at ASOS Curve - some lovely looking jumpsuits which I think can look really good and more stylish/edgy than a sparkly Christmas frock, especially with some great accessories.

I second Scarlett & Jo

It might be a little early yet OP, with more choice in stores from September. Any of these from Violeta? Mango's larger size collection? Realistically though you could be a size 14 or 16 by then, which would give more options. MN's low carb bootcamp was great for me. Quite a revelation how much delicious food I could eat and still lose weight! Smile
