Wax advice please (waxing virgin)

I'm going on holiday soon and my bikini line area is a disaster. I have given up keeping it tidy, to be honest, as shaving just brings me up in a terrible rash (ingrown hairs and all sorts - yuk), and depilatory cream doesn't seem to deal with my extremely bushy bushy bits (sorry tmi!). However, I HAVE to sort it out before I bare all on the beach, so it looks like waxing is the only answer. I was all set to book an appointment when my sister put me off by saying her friend (who also suffers from bad rashes etc when she shaves) had a bikini wax and it ruined her holiday as she came up in an even worse rash than with shaving and was red raw for a week. Argh! I can't have this happen to me. What should I do? I seriously look like Ape woman at the minute :-(

I've only had rashes when I've been to a salon who haven't done the waxing properly (I only have my lip and chin done though, not my bikini line).

When it's done properly, it's fine - and you can always use a moisturiser to help stop the ingrown hairs (which is often what causes the rash).

How long is it until you go away? Do you have time for a trial run now, and then another one just before you go away?

never had a rash from bikini waxing (salon or home). always get one when shaving.

agree with wwb - have a trial go first, if you've got time.

or invest in a boy-leg swimsuit, just in case
