I have the Gap ones with turn up - they are good. I've only worn them twice and now they're too small because I had a bug on holiday.

These linen blend shorts from Next are nice on me. I have nice calfs (or is it calves?) much less nice thighs, wide hips, narrow waist. I am happy to wear these shorts further than the garden.

I spent a very disheartening Saturday morning in Kew trying on everything and feeling fat and old. Settled for an emerald green silk maxi skirt in the end (not a bit of leg on show). However bought lovely bikini with one of those 'Brazilian shaped' bottoms i.e half the size of your bum, but very flattering (ironically) in White stuff. I gots to get me a tan...

Think those Boden ones look good. I want/need shorts that camoflage my thighs.

What length do you want? Mid thigh? Above the knee?

EB - those NEXT ones camouflage my thighs. When I said much less nice thighs I meant horrid thighs. No part of them is nice. I think you ought not to wear turn-up shorts that end around the wide part of the thigh. Eurgh!

Don't do shorts, either. Floaty skirts that fall below the knee, capri pants, just-below-knee cargo pants...thats about it for me in the summer, unless I am on the beach.
