Which dress for a wedding?

ninnypoo · 08/08/2018 09:46

Hi everyone,

I have my DPs cousins wedding on Saturday and need help choosing between two dresses.

Option a- orange dress- was £5 in the sale so absolute bargain however is a thin material so I will need to wear big pants and will probably be a bit self conscious of my tummy however I could cope if it genuinely doesn't look too bad

Option b- black and white- was £70. I can afford it but feel guilty about the price although I will wear it again on holiday

I'm all set to return the expensive dress and wear the orange one but I'm paranoid that my hips/tummy will look big and maybe I should wear something floatier?

Anyway opinions would be great please! Thanks!

Yup orange all the way! You look lovely.

ApolloandDaphne · 08/08/2018 10:38

The orange one for sure. It looks very glamorous and shows off your figure. The other one is dowdy and frumpy looking on you.

TokyoSushi · 08/08/2018 10:39

Orange one, but different shoes

Dreamscomingtrue · 08/08/2018 11:08

The orange one 😊

BackAwayFatty · 08/08/2018 11:21

Orange one & no need for big pants! Looks fab as is.

Other one is a lovely dress but doesn't do you justice.

macnab · 08/08/2018 11:51

The orange one is gorgeous on you - please wear heels! You'll look fab and have a great time.

Return the black & white one, it does nothing for you (and will save you £70!)

ninnypoo · 08/08/2018 12:09

thanks all- I guess it's pretty unanimous! Interestingly when I showed friends the black dress from a more flattering angle they preferred it but I'm going to make the most of saving £70!

Heels aren't an option I'm afraid as a) I'm 5'11 so don't really 'do' heels in general and b) i have my heart set on having one fancy function with DP where I don't tower over him! Will keep an eye out for some nice flats though.

Thanks for all the advice and compliments- feeling a lot better about myself now Smile

Orange, definitely! You look amazing in it.

sunshineseaside · 08/08/2018 12:25

I know you have already decided but oh my gosh that first dress looks beautiful - even at weird angle!

ninnypoo · 08/08/2018 12:35

By the way for anyone who likes the orange dress- it's currently £5 in the sale at Primark so get it while you can Grin

Definitely orange, I think the black and white one ages you quite a lot.

littleskittle · 08/08/2018 13:29

Orange one is gorgeous on you, v flattering, and looks expensive!

Joinourclub · 08/08/2018 14:08

I can see that dress 2 is the nicer dress, but dress 1 suits you so much more. And it’s more wedding guesty. AND it’s better with flats than dress 2.

Westwing1 · 08/08/2018 14:14

Orange one is more fun and celebratory. You look great.

LemonysSnicket · 08/08/2018 14:21

Orange looks better and is fine. You look depressed in the black and white with your body language).

Invent in some no VPL pants?

Prettysureitsnotok · 08/08/2018 14:31

Agree - orange makes you look like a sexy young thing whereas the 2nd one is a bit matronly aunt Grin

You don't have a tummy to speak of - once you've got some bubbles down you just remember all these comments and rock it x

MsHippo · 08/08/2018 14:33

Going against the grain, I like the black and white one!! Where's it from!?

pinkpanther84 · 08/08/2018 14:40

Definitely the orange one, 100%, looks lovely Smile

LizB62A · 08/08/2018 14:55

The orange one is lovely & flattering (and I don't usually like orange Smile)
The other dress makes you look middle aged and much bigger tbh

bourbonbiccy · 08/08/2018 15:05

Definitely the orange one, it looks lovely and the colour is fab. Without offending, the black and white one really doesn't look great, although may be the angle ( if you still have tags on get your 70quid back if you can, only meant in a nice way Not being horrible )

MassDebate · 08/08/2018 18:08

I know you have already decided but just to chime in, you look about 3 sizes bigger in the black and white - your figure looks fab in the orange! Different shoes required though.

peachypetite · 08/08/2018 18:11

Orange hands down

TodoDoingDone · 08/08/2018 18:20

Orange! And I can't see a tummy, but a great figure!

3girlmama · 08/08/2018 18:41

Love the orange one!
