Women's swim shorts? Or swim skirt? Anyone wear these?

I just want to be able to play with my kids in the sea or pool and on the beach without worrying about the cellulite on my thighs. Do any of you wear swim shorts or skirt over a costume or with a bikini? They don't seem that easy to come by. Ideally I think I'd like a pair of shorts. Any recommendations?

I used to wear swim shorts and just got then from sports shop! Amazon always has everything too

I've got knee length swim shorts paired with a long sleeved rash vest - I'm covered wrist to knee. Saves on shaving Grin

U got some men's swim shorts from Primark the other day, they're mid thigh, not hugely baggy but not skin tight, the nylon type with the mesh inner.

The are pink with zipped pockets which are very handy and only cost £4.

Worn them twice to the local pool and love how comfy i felt in them. They had about 15 different colours.

I wear a speedo 1 piece costume which has leg bits and it's comfy, flattering and I feel really confident in it.

I'll find a link

NothingOnTellyAgain · 07/08/2018 22:19

Google speedo legsuit

Decathlon has various items when I was there the other day.

Honest answer?
I have just come back from Majorca and didn't see any women in swim shorts, and just one woman in a swim dress. She looked very uncomfortable when it was wet and flapping about her legs. Women of all shapes and sizes wear bikinis mosty, with the odd swimsuit.

I have cellulite thighs. Am I bothered on holiday? No. Most women my age also have cellulite, and I am past caring.

Gwenhwyfar · 08/08/2018 18:53

I have a legsuit for the swimming pool, but I think it would look odd on the beach and I'd just wear normal shorts rather than swim shorts. They'd dry soon enough wouldn't they?

peachypetite · 08/08/2018 18:54

Nobody cares about your cellulite. You'll attract much more attention trying to cover up!

anothersatsone · 08/08/2018 18:58

I wear something like this (below) so more 'boy short' legs.

www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020234860_-1.

I don't care about my cellulite, but I cba to defuzz my pubic line.

Gwenhwyfar · 08/08/2018 19:03

My legsuit is also because I can't be bothered about my bikini line. I think on the beach I'd just wear normal shorts.

I wear swimshorts, the lycra ones that are mid-thigh. You can get them from most sport shops, they appear to be becoming more popular. They had loads in last time I went. You can also get a matching or co-ordinating top.
They are brilliant for proper swimming, or water activities with kids where you might have to get into all sorts of positions, bending over, mucking about etc.

Bikinis are great for style and sunbathing. But not great for swimming, if you're serious about it.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 08/08/2018 19:11

I have shorts and a rash vest for our upcoming holiday but it's partly to save me defuzzing (I have PCOS and it's like trying to shave a gorilla) and partly to keep the sun off because I'm a redhead (okay, a ginger gorilla). I couldn't care less who sees my cellulite, or who thinks I'm strange for covering up.

dontknowwhattodo80 · 08/08/2018 19:14

I've just bought one of these, I like the fact I can pull it down like a short dress if I want, or wear it pulled up like a tankini

Me! I have swim shorts from Amazon in white, turquoise blue and hot pink. I love them, wear them with contrasting patterned bikini tops so that I can mix and match.

ProfYaffle · 08/08/2018 19:21

Me and dds wear swim shorts and rash vest for messing about on the beach/river/pool in the garden. I'm happy to wear a normal swimming costume in a swimming pool but feel a bit too exposed in other situations.

I bought ours from Amazon.
