No Spend August anyone?

So, nearly into August, I have spent a blinking fortune on holiday clothes .I have loads of toiletries that I'm going to take with me to use up.

In September I can start indulging in my passion- jumpers .

But till then, I aim to spend nought in August.

Anyone care to join me Wink ?

DH bought me a bottle of Aveda Shampure .
It doesn't count (IMO) because I didn't buy it. He's either being really nice or he's trying to sabotague my good work (the Swine) Grin

Shock The swine bought you lovely shampoo. How very dare he pamper your locks!!

No that doesn't count Wink

I'm not buying anything this month, I've got enough beauty stuff and although I have the wants about some clothes they can wait.

Grin he saw me looking (and had to put up with me whinging) at the M&S website that now sells Aveda .

I'll keep it till I've worked my way through some of the bottles in the bathroom , then I can use it after our holiday .

Went out today with DD, I bought toothbrushes ( health essential not S&B) and a jacket for her (so exempt from NoSpend if its for her)

How is everyone doing? I have been strong so far, I did waver over a pair of blush Oxfords that I bought and returned (too small) but the bigger size is now on a mega offer - and then I went and broke my toe so I won't be able to get them on to check the size! That'll be the universe clubbing me in the foot for trying to cheat then... Grin

It’s a good exercise in making me review what I actually need.
So far I need
A few work dresses,
A black or grey fine knit wool hip length Cardi with no pockets or buttons.
Ankle boots, grey, burgundy or black.

I bought work shoes (which I need as I delightedly chucked my worn out ones in the shoe recycling thingy at the start of maternity leave and now have a choice of running shoes, dr martens or sandals, none of which are work appropriate and I’m back in September) - they were seriously reduced in my size and I’m not sorry, because I did really need them.

Otherwise, all good here.

Apart from the nail polish, so far so good. What do you mean it's only the 8th???

No more spending for me too. I have enough clothes for my holidays and need to stop trawling the sales. It just doesn’t make sense when I have so many items with tags in my wardrobe totally unworn that are now being sold on eBay.
I need to step away from the compulsive shopping.

I was looking for a bikini today (after loads of Shall I/Shan't I )

Well the NoSpendAugust Gods must've been bloody conspiring against me Hmm I looked in Tesco (they had nice green leaf print ones before) there was nothing for me.

Might quickly look tomorrow.
I have one piece suits but we're going to the Turkish mud baths and a top/briefs will be easier

Do earrings count? Went to local craft market last week and bought some (plus bracelet, oops) without even thinking. Otherwise all good - managed a trip to London and to a discount outlet without buying anything - told myself I was getting my eye in for the autumn but it was too early to make any commitments. I'm also finding the change back to more traditional (e.g. colder and wetter) summer weather really helpful as it means I can dig clothes out that I haven't worn for a while.

Nearly the end of August and I have been OnTheWagon.

I bought a couple of hairdyes (Superdrug) because I really need to do the greys this weekend.

I was on holiday and shunned DutyFree and the Genuine Fakes so I reckon I came out of August pretty unscathed Grin

Planning some A/W buys in the next few weeks , but from the fashion bits in the magazines I read , I won't be breaking any speed limits to get there.

Baggy straight leg jeans with huge turn-ups.
Clashing prints but in the same colourways
Tartan (yawn)
Mules with socks
Long satiny dresses with a hoodie (wtaf?)
Brown
Blazers
Velvet
Odd earrings(as in hoop/dangly in one ear , stud in the other)

The only thing I'm going with is a bit more leopard in my life !

I bought a glass penguin today, but I can't wear it, so it doesn't count!

I Love velvet. I have a couple of jackets and skirts that I’ve hung on to.

I've managed only to buy an eyeliner this month.
